Due t the fact that my turbo has gone on the drivers side and it puffs out enough smoke to cause a severe fog weather warning my Z has been left at my mom's house in The Midlands for a couple of weeks. I've popped up today to remove the interior panels only to find that some fooker has tried to screw my drivers door lock! Fortunately they did not get in and I think the dog's disturbed then but none the less they have knackered the lock and pulled the door handle surround out about 10mm.

It's not normally left for long at mom's just waiting to go to garage for new tub's. What I don't understand is that it is so obviously alarmed as the interior flashes blue and the whole car lights up at night due to freezing over. I wouldn't mind but my stereo would be lucky to fetch £30 second hand!

sorry to here this but at least they didn't get it away!

if the outside casing of the lock is only damaged you may be able to repaire the lock with a new housing.

i did my old cav i stripped the lock straightened out the brass encoders inside and re housed them in a new lock. it worked a treat.

i think greg used to be a master locksmith pm him bud he may be able to suggest something with out having to resort changing all the locks

all the best

I have considered that but you just can't win. At least where I normally park it, it seems to be a lot safer. I would say they have had their eye on it for a while as it hasn't moved for some time. I know they weren't trying to steal it as it was parked with a tree in front of it an mom's Scooby to it's side. There was no way they would have got it off the drive.

Fortunately I have remote locking and the surround may be suitable to get pushed back in without too many problems. Fingers crossed.

I haven't researched them properly yet but alarm fitters would probably be able to do them.

trouble is a few of the theives also know this! im afraid.

its a good idea to have a jump starting point eg jump leads wired up to you battery incase of a flat. it is usually located behind the bumper by the towing eye.

That is probably the best option although I tend to keep my jump leads in the boot of the Z!!!

Sorry to hear it. Some *******s broke into my Merc in Brixton Monday and stole my stereo. Just about destroyed the wood surround for the A/C unit. I wish I could put my hands on them.
