Its been discused many times, there are many reasons why it will not happen.

 

First of all you need 2 pictures to tell the distance and there is no way you can tell the the difference in distance when the camera is on the floor.

But there are cameras which do this anyway. They are on motorways and I bet most people dont even know they are there.

 

 

But there is one major flaw.

 

This requires there to be a police officer close by who is actually willing to do some work and not just sit there with a speed gun. We know that there are no such things.

lol just annoying that they are still catching us for money not safety i thout prevention was the cure not prosecution !

i think with all the money (beer fund) the government get out of us they should have no need for anymore i for 1 am i total favour of a general strike throughout the whole country stop everything in its tracks then see how the fools/idiots in westminster cope

Of course it's well known the bloke who invented cats eyes got the idea from looking at light reflected in a real cat's eyes (true). Just as well, really - if his moggy had been facing the other way, he'd have invented the pencil sharpener :D :D

This won't happen.

It doesn't do anything new and would be a lot more expensive than the current methods.

 

Plus, they'd only last a week. How many knackered new-style cats-eyes do you see?!

plz correct me if i'm wrong, but i thought that all camera and cops with radar guns HAVE to be made visable, thats why cameras are now painted yellow and cops where nbright yellow jackets, due to entrapment laws, so they'd still have to let us know where they are.

apparently their also installing pop up speed cameras in the road that appear if your travelling too fast.......

So we psuade all drivers to run over them...drive on the cats eyes, they wont last long./...

Also - I believe cops with radar guns are *MEANT* to put a sign further down the road warning you they're doing speed *safety* measurements.

 

The one in Sheffield the other day practically jumped out from behind a bush at me - nearly knocked the silly bastad over!!!!
