do what i did m8 throw in the towel and wait a little longer for a cheap 350z

Chin up mate, get the pair rebuilt and then it'll be all over :)

there are always low times when owning a Z, I for one have thought on a few occasions about getting rid of it for something newer. Thats always short lived though. As soon as you drive it again you will be back on cloud 9.

They are testing them fully on a rig tomorrow but one is leaking on visual inspection and has very slight damage to the blades.

The other looks like it might have a very minor leak too.

ย

They're T28's and havent even done 2000 miles since fitted

Will have to get them reconditioned - no choice really :(

Oh the pleasures of having a 2nd car. you frighten the life out of me you lot. All these problems to come............

FFS Chris, I knew it was smoking well but :(

ย

Hope you get it sorted soon buddy!

chin up bud , once tubs are changed , dont think there is anything left to go wrong ay !!

whats caused the damage then?? :(

ย

ย

Well when we changed the plugs the end of the back two had melted, but before we done that PaulG changed them a few hundred mile before and the very same thing was happening so there is a good chance that the ends could have gone through the turbo if the pellers are damaged:(:(:(

I don't think the turbo's have been right from the start as it was smoking slightly when they first went on and just got worse.

Suspect the oil vapour was causing detonation which damaged the plug and with too much power on stock internals the piston ring lands finally gave way too. Who knows?

ย

I've been told the damage to one of the blades is very minor but is probably from the plugs and bits of piston that got munched!

Well I honestly think that the smoking was down to the engine that was fitted and not the tub seals as they were brand new (not recon) and only done 600 miles Duffer inspected them before they were fitted.

ย

Dont forget mate that engine was running for a few mins when the car was laid on its side after the accident, you paid WAY too much for that engine and it had a big risk of oil starvation IMHO I would not have given ยฃ50 for it.

ย

Even Latz (cough) said DONT BUY IT! That IMHO was the start of all the shit you have gone through:( but like you say who knows.

ownig a zed is like a battle of wills, I will not be beaten, but sonn will have more engines than cars
