I recently fitted a nrw water pump, rad cap, thermostate and timing belt kit to my tt and since doing that my expansion tank is filing with water and dripping onto the floor. Change the rad cap again but no joy, the top hose is hard so there is preasure, is it possible the thermostate is causing the system to over preasure, any help would be great thanks.

I would check you do not have an air lock as the Z is prone to them when re-filling the coolant and an airlock would cause this !

Yep I agree. It can take up to two hours to bleed em some times especially if you have a standard rad as the get full of crap.

Your just going to have to put the heater on full and use the bleed screw on the O/S of the rad to bleed it out.

Good luck.

When I refill my engine, I carry a round a large bottle of water for the following 2 weeks and keep topping it up.

When I did mine I had the luxery of taking the rad out, and giving it a good flush through, then slowly filled it, then left it over night, and refilled it the next day, then did the same another night, and again the following night. Probably well OTT, but then I wasn't using it as I was waiting for the new front bumper, so couldn't use it anyway. Incidentley, I've had no problems with it since, always hold the right amount of water in it.

The old method was to hand-pump the rubber hoses, but that was out as I'd fitted Smithys solid SS pipes ;)

also dont forget the bleed pipe going into the aircon also its easy to get to its just before the pipes go into the bulkhead also check you rad cap and make sure its seated right and is holding pressure

Where abouts in Wales are you? Anywhere near Wrexham?

I live in swansea, gorseinon. not far from T-POT

I know where it is I used to take steel into Gorseinon. Its a bit far for me to come and show you how to bleed her though. Sorry

and don't forget to have the heater on max heat and blow when getting rid of airlocks :)

And did you put the thermostat in the right position?-as some have small air-holes that must be at the top/12 o'clock position!
