Just spotted this ad on eBay, for a 1987 Ford Capri 280 Brooklands. For anyone who doesn't know (and who cares ;) ) there were 1036 of these last models produced, of which about 700(ish) still survive....... Yes I used to be a Capri man, and DO know my stuff on them :D

Now this guy is selling this one, and currently has 7 bids taking it upto £3100.00...................... Now look at the picture of the wheel, and tell me whats wrong with it. Then take a look at the engine bay pic, and also the interior shot!!

For this sort of money, wouldn't you expect him to have cleaned it? I would, afterall it won't sell itself (although I could very easily be proved wrong here by the 7 bidders ;) ). Would you sell a Zed looking like that?

i know what you mean my dad had a f reg brooklands loverly mota nice interior but shame it didnt handle to well but the ol bag of sand in the boot worked well j

I never had a Brooklands. But in my time have had 3 x 2.8 inj. Capris. Wot a lovely car in its day. IMO. But sorry don't care how rare, they aint worth 3 grand. I have seen Cortina's making 2.5 grand and nearly spat my beer out. It's madness.

I`ve seen a real heap of sh1t go for over 3k, rotten underneath ripped interior and pretty fooked on the top too. That should go for a pretty penny as there are not many left now. Soon the zed will go the same way. :(

yeah but its these muppets that look through glasses guise or parkers then think there car is a1 condition !!!!!

I managed to prise a MK III 3.0S off mate a few years ago for £250. It was a bit rough but went like a bat out of hell.....mostly sideways too :D :D

 

When I'd had enough I put it up for sale and was inundated with buyers !! It turned out to be one of the very last 3.0S's.......went to some collector guy who was going to restore it.

 

The funny thing was.......I promised to get the rear parcel shelf off my mate for him but after it was gone couldn't be bothered with all the hassle. He kept ringing and ringing and I kept avoiding his calls.......then some months later I found the locking wheel nut key under my stairs :slap: I suspect that was the reason for the calls..........
