Firstly would like to say a big thankyou to mattotto, Thanks for the KYB suspension bud. I meet him this morning at Bluewater in kent at 9.30, we done the deal and of home i went to fit them, and buy 18.00hrs they were fitted, fronts and backs, :hyper: they look the biz. My old rear nearside shock was totaly Knackerd, so this new kit should feel a lot more stable.

Not got the car off the axel stands yet as i want to bleed the brakes tomorrow, so antf hurry around tomorrow bud, i need your right leg....

Tyre size recommendations

245 on an 8J will look like a balloon on a 8j….. an 8J is only 204mm wide

The tyres you currently have a 2% smaller in diameter and circumference that the OEM wheel/tyre combo

Personally would be looking at a 225/45r17. Plenty of very nice tyre options and only 0.4% different diameter from OEM size

Suggestions for Potential Valved Exhaust

Personally I wouldn't bother mate!
Valved systems are fine where they are an OEM fit on new cars, but why waste cash trying to replicate that on an older car which sounds pretty decent from the box.
Go and speak to Infinity (the guys next to Jim) and get them to custom build a "normal" system for you. I did and I am very pleased with the result.
My old Mongoose was too intrusive at cruising speeds, so Infinity fabricated one with extra resonators at the front, which made cruising quieter from inside the car. They then used smaller silencers at the rear, so the best of the noise is out back. If I want to have a little fun and enjoy the rumble, I just open the windows.
No fancy switches to mess around with, it looks good, sounds good (without the added knob-headed attention seeking function) and only cost £600 all in.

Tyre size recommendations

Hi Rob,
for the wheel sizes you have, and to keep the rolling circumferences close, fronts should be 45 profile - go for 235/45/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear. You'll find plenty of options with those sizes. That's what I ran when I had the same 17 inch Azevs on my red Zed😉
You might get 265/40/17 on the rear - but brand options may be fewer.
It all follows when you upgrade wheel diameter, you keep the width and drop 5% in profile - I have 18s and my fronts are 235/40/18.
