Hypothetically (jeez that spelt right?) speaking ............................ if nissan announced tomorrow that the very last z32 to come off the produduction line in 1996 which they've been storing in an airtight room for the past 9 years was to come up for auction how far would you go?!! :hyper:

Imagine, the plastic still on the seats, owners manual and warranty wrapped up in the glove box, 000000 miles, the two original keys, no dodgy history

considering they were about £40,000 when they stopped making them ,..............anyone who says they havnt had this dream is lying

for me i would be looking quite closely at the mrs' life insurance policy

Didn't they make the Type-R in 2000?

Maybe they were modified ones they built earlier.

Either way, I'd be up for a brand new one!

I guess it'd go for £50,000 or more so not cheap. Maybe twice that.

they probably did buddy,

but theres something about an untouched completely original z that excites me!! almost virginal.........

hang on ..is this true?

i really thought 1996 was it

no mate - the thing i really love about the zed is the mod ability of it - granted some isnt to my taste but then my taste isnt everyone else's - you go to jae and find another car stand which has as much individuality, character, and difference as the z32 stand. just for example look at the gto stand or the fto stand or the skyline stand. I've taken people to jae who know nothing about cars and our stand always brings out good comments.

gets off soapbox :D

Agreed. Half the fun is making it different, stamping your own individuality on it. Sorry chewie the thought of a brand new, unused Zed doesn't send me into a cold sweat...Now, a TVR Sagaris on the other hand... :D ;)

(or a really late Supra with Fortune kit :x: )

Mmmmmm....Fortune kit. Mr Yokomaku don't arf know how to make a good looking motor. Aggressive but not over done (though I wish they'd come up with a different side skirt style. I know it's they're signature but it's getting a bit dated now IMHO! ;)).

Would love an unused 2000 Type-R as a blank canvas though!

Yep they made them right up to 2000. They stopped sales in America in 1996 (1994 in UK).

I'd love to get my Zed in as-new showroom condition working on it...slowly...

Certainly did - where else do we think we got the 1999 spec front bumper and rear spoiler?

http://www.nissan-global.com/GCC/Japan/NEWS/257a.htm

There is also a 2000 spec bumper but you dont hear people talking about it. Its just slightly modified 1999 spec one.

There was a 1999 spec 2 seater TT up for sale about 2-3 years ago, it only had 1000km on the clock which is hardly run in. They wanted £19,995 for it.

The VERY last 300ZX is in a museum in the US. It has a policy of only displaying cars which where no longer in production. Apparently they had the space ready for it cince 1996 and then had to wait until they stopped making them.

I just knew you guys would be a wealth of information! cheers...

i think im just old fashioned . everyone tells me i live in the past.

i completely understand those of you who have spent a fortune (not to mention the time involved) not wanting a stock 300 new or not. you're justifiably proud of what you've created.

but the thing is ive never debadged any of my z's because im extremely proud of what it is. A now becoming rare supercar of the nineties which hardly anyone could afford at the end of its production, making way for more affordable cars like the mazda mx5 etc.

ok, the one ive got now had a couple of mods when i bought it, i still would never try and make it look like something its not.

I was 20 years old when i first saw one and never forgot it.

when ibought my first one 5 or six years ago i drove home from dublin with a grin that so wide it almost knocked the mrs out of the seat!

Hers to all z owners, mods or purists!!!!.... :duffer:

Don't worry, chewie, you're not the only one - welcome to the Luddite Tendency!

Still true - hardly anyone can afford 'em now!
