NZR. PTU on mazda MX6

Can anyone tell me if the mazda MX 6 is fitted with the same PTU as the 300ZX.

I doubt it! Does it even have a PTU? Which engine?

No, it doesn't have coil packs for a start.

Has the Distributor gone, as they are a bit notorius with

this car.

its a friends 2.5 v6. only he has the same problem as i had with my z witch turned out to be my PTU. Ive not seen it so i dont know if it has the same system yet. Mazda have charged him £1600 so far and not fixed it.

Apparently there is an ignition module in the distributor - sounds like a common fault.... Worth checking out :)

Yep, had the same happen on mine.

I bought a new distributor Kit of the web for about £200 pounds

and changed it my self in about 20 Minutes.

Only problem is I heard of some cases where people where

changing them four times a year (Perhaps a problem elsewhere causing it to

fail)

Fix and Sell perhaps, I wouldn't buy another.
