of cars!

Why does any job on a car always go tits up and never goes smoothly?

Changing the springs / shocls on the car today and I didn't even do one! The lower ball joint pinch bolt that ataches the hub assembly to the lower wishbone was on solid, one of them stupid round bolts with a torque type head in the centre. So I lubed it up (ooo err) heated it up and gave a good tug (steady) to the point where the star shaped shit bolt rounded off. No chance of getting it out, tried from 3pm to 9:30pm and still not off. In the end decided to drill it only to find that I had no hardened drill bits and broke about 7 drills in the process and still couldnt get the ****ING ******* bolt out!!!!

in the end had to leave the car on the jack, and then try and move it, but couldnt so had to leave the car under the garage door and just cover it all up. ****ing ridiculous, no idea what im going to do tomorrow, was supposed to be spending some quality time with my daughter but I have to get the car sorted for monday :(

Anyone got any sugestions? I swear tho once this is done, I am not going to play with cars anymore, had enough of wasting days on crappy ****ing hunks of metal

That'll be the Mondeo then Steve?.... ;)

Seriously though mate, is it just the bolt you can get to? If you

can see the nut on the end, i had a tool called a ''nut splitter''

kind of a socket with a screw in 'blade' that split the nut, just a thought...

nope wont turn at all mate, not with mole grips, or locking nuts on the back of it, christ knows why its so seazed when the cars not even that old!

I really dont know what to do mate.

And greg, its here somewhere mate looking for it as i speak, and Si, yes that ford car lol.

Guff a load of wd40 into, and around it, then in the morning it'll bump out with a large hammer!!

did you try tapping round the threaded area with a hammer also give the head of the bolt a smack, if its been put on with lock tight this is sometimes enough to free it off. also can help if the treads are siezed up with rust

''Easy-out''...ever heard of it? Kinda like a centre punch with

a thread on it...drill a small hole in the bolt, then tap the punch into

it, will undo it eventually...!

Once did one on a fiesta - got p***ed off trying to remove it so grinded it off. Not sure if this is poss on yours though?

Hate to say this but if that is a zed your working on then to change the springs/shocks you do not need to undo the lower wishbone assembly, just the shocks themselves, and then lever the assembly down to get the required room/ access to remove them.
