Directions are......

 

M42 (North)

Get off at J5 and turn left onto the A4141 (direction Solihull)

Dual Carriage way turns to single lane.

Turn right onto the B4102 (Hampton lane).

Follow it through until you pass the second side street on the right (Henwood lane) and the Boat Inn is on your right hand side.

 

If you're coming from the North:

 

M42 (South)

Get off at J6 (NEC & airport) and turn right onto the A45 (Birmingham S.E.)

Stay in the left lane which will veer off to the left and onto an island - turn left onto the B4430 (Catherine de-Barnes Lane).

Follow it to the 1st island and turn right onto the B4102 (Hampton Lane).

Go over the humpback bridge and the pub is immediately on your left hand side.

I swim! passed the Boat on my way to and from work and can tell you that at the moment it's still being refurbed with the car park blocked off...couldn't tell you how long for though i'm afraid...it's been going on a while already

It's a Beefeater pub so a bit charmless but TBH not as bad as some. Stones throw from J4 of the M42 (3/4 mins), huuuuge car park, decent bar area, good food (bit pricey though). This is one of our groups "back up pubs" if we're looking for a quiet drink and our local is too crowded/got an annoying theme night on, and we don't want to go into Solihull town centre. :D

 

2. The Field House (10 Knightcote Drive, Monkspath, Solihull, B913JU Tel:0121 711 2642)

Not far from the Plough so about 10 mins from J4. Big car park, good food, nice atmosphere, my local! :D
