Quick introductions first, I've snuck over from zclub site, I've got a 240Z which I'm doing a rolling restoration on.
One thing I want/need to do is change the gearbox as the one on it is knackered. As I'm planning on getting a pretty healthy power output from the engine eventually I need a gearbox that will cope.
I've been told that an '84-'86 Z31 turbo gearbox would be a good start. I've got a bellhousing from a US spec 280ZX turbo which should mate to that but I was wondering if any of the later gearboxes would be useable instead. To my mind the newer the box the stronger it's going to be - course I've been wrong before ;)

Anybody got any info to help me here?
