Unfortunately the government can't do what the terrorists demand, or even suggest that they might do, or there will be more and more hostages taken and demands made.

Vince, I didn't say that one situation was preferrable to the other. I was just making a case that shit happens. Personally, I wouldn't like to be in either situation.

 

I can accept that 'babarians' can hack peoples heads off as this is what makes them barbarians. However, I find it mind boggling that a civilised government can go against human rights conventions etc and lock people up indefinately without sufficient evidence and without legal representation.

 

Also, there are numerous cases where Iraqi "POW" have been subjected to torture and humiliation. Photographs were also taken as well and was eventially spread around the world by the media too.
