It says item description will apear shortly. Previous auctions by the same guy seem to say the same thing too. It looks nice, but there's no spec. that you can see. I bet the car is still in Japan 'awaiting shipment'.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a car off eBay that was still in Japan. I think it would be a different matter if you knew/trusted the importer, but it just seems dodgy with no details or anything. It's a ten day auction and has only had one bid, and they havn't even bothered putting up a proper description?

I would want to buy something with a careful owner off here with stacks of history, or from a good dealer with a good reputation, even if it meant paying 'a bit' (!) more than £2850!!

I dont like the fact is says details to follow shortly. How much more time does it take to do so. Its a 10 day auction and there is a day left. So "shortly" has taken 9 days so far and still no information about it.

Well, the strange thing is there was a description up until today...

It's an auto, 1990. It needs a fog light put on, MOT, no SVA for some reason, registering with the DVLA and all shipping costs etc. including VAT come to £1700. So you have to pay say £40 for an MOT, put a fog light on yourself, pay £38 to get a reg no and register it and then you're ready to rumble.

I share your concern with buying something you've not seen in the flesh, but it looks like it's been kitted out well. It's got various Apexi bits and bobs, can't remember which ones off the top of my head. It is weird the description is down now though...

If you look at the feedback and previous auctions they all say 'description to follow shortly' and the pictures are unavailable. A 1990 will not need an SVA test (I don't think) Still would rather pay more for a known quantity.

When I was looking I used to get a load of car details from 'Group 20'. I thought the cars always looked good, but never had a closer look. I think cars can often look amazing when you see a little photo but turn out to be shite in the flesh.

I'd also prefer to buy a good stock car and then put bits on that I wanted myself rather than inheriting some Japanese chap's idea of a 'reliable' zed. Maybe that's not very realistic though because I've not exactly been Mr. Modifier.

"Awaiting details" is popping up for every item as far as I can see, I don't think that's just him. Mind you, I think my PC has got a hangover too this morning :duffer: so it could just be me.

Oh yes- the details are there now. Don't know if I would trust an importer that doesn't know which cars need an SVA and which don't.

Note: +£1375 for Shipping, duty and VAT. You'd be better off importing a car from Japan yourself.

I have actual seen adverts like that a few times now. One was a nice 98 2 seater hard top. Hmmmmmm.

The description thing could have been a problem with the Ebay server.
