NZR: ICE install in a VWAG...

Anyone know the wire colours of the speaker channels in a recent VWAG car (Seat Leon in this case) - they're not as advertised on seatenthusiasts.co.uk cos I've cabled them up that way and I have invasion of the Daleks!

Selection of harnesses tried... gonna have to re-pin a harness myself by the look of it. :(

Yeah. Just spent ages working out it was standard by magically recreating a straight-through harness by trial and error...

...plugged the head connector straight into the dash taking out the harness I'd just pinned... which was doing feck all...

...and lo and behold it's buggered again and I can't even get individual speakers to behave - they're all intermittent. WTF is going on?

Just been through the harness process with the other one - ie power - and if I leave the illumination lead unconnected it's fine. So I'll do that for now, but I don't see the logic! (Should be OK, it's quick to dim the display with the remote control anyway.)

At least I've got an 8 CD changer now :hyper:

The pin configuration is different on VAG cars, the main feed and ignition are opposite to normal and the blue remote out wire is a feed IN, cut it. Illumination wire is also a feed in for standard head unit.

When plugging the harness in that comes with the stereo you are fitting use only 3 wires, main feed, ignition and earth. Cut the rest or you will blow your head unit.

You will also find MW and LW will be crap, if you want these you will need an in-line aerial amp.
