Would a ecu upgrade that goes to 7,800 rpm cause problems without adding boost jets?

7,800 is v high, too high on stock internals really and the power will have dropped off before then anyway so theres not much point.

My chip has the limit at 7,300 and the last rolling road I was on showed the power peaking at around 7,100.

I was getting the info from the ECU i bought off Dave C. Its not fitted yet but do u think i need to do anything in particular before fitting

1 x Upgraded TT-Auto ECU (says Central Motorsport on front) from my own car (Rev lmt 7800, Speed 530kmh for std injectors) ยฃ130 SOLD (mrogers)

If your car is a manual it wont be a problem, just shift before the rev limit as normal :) Dunno the implications for an auto - anyone know what rev limit the autobox works off? Does it have its own limit or does it run off the Engine ECU one?

works off the ECU limit , this would not be to clever on an auto as everytime you punched the gas it would change at 7800

its an auto ecu. what option do I have? Not fit it or modify it or fit it and check when it changes? Was gonna fit it tomorrow for the drive to billing, but with such a long journey might leave it in the boot for now.

you could just change the Eprom/chip to a jwt or something similar easy to do as the ecu has already been socketed that would be your safest bet

ill bring the ecu to billing im sure somebody can tell me whats in it if i open her up there.

never heard of central motorsport. but i cant see why they would put such a high rev limit. having 2 ecu's now is gonna make any upgrade easier even if the chip too agressive for the car.
