Turbo Failiure / Blue Smoke

Had a real crap day today, on my way to our local garage to get my new RPS Max Clutch and Aasco Lightened Flywheel and a niggly long term Oil leak from the Sandwich plate above the oil filter sorted. Driving along I experienced the thing that none of us like to think about it's the kind of thing that you will read about exactly here and never imagine it will happen to you (But it can).

THE DREADED BLUE SMOKE was bellowing out from the back of my car LIKE MY BLOODY GRANDADS COMPOST HEAP was on fire, you could see it from 300 yards and everyone was cutting me dirty looks of disgust and pointing and laughing (I was Gutted). Anyhoo I continued on to the local garage ROSS ROAD GARAGE, HUNTLEY, GLOUCESTER where John and Andy the mechanic have been really helpful and understanding and suggested that while the Bell housing, Exhaust mainpipe, prop etc were off my car to do the Flywheel and Clutch that they could get close enough to the pasengerside Turbo that has gone to whip it out with the engine still in (Thank God). It's suprising how much space there is to work with all the gubbins removed and the car is elevated above head height.

Anyway off I drive into the Sunset Turbo in hand (Well in a carrier bag and a box actually) off to Northampton (2 hour drive away) to go up to Turbo Technics wher I arrived very stressed out at their closing time and just caught the boss (Giles) on his way out the door, when he instantly pointed out the excessive play in the bearings and concluded that they had suffered extensive Oil Starvation ???? They are going to replace the Turbo Seal and replace the 360 Bearing that was inserted into my turbos by Severnvalley Motorsport in Telford only 15 months ago having done only 2500 miles (Mysteriously it has packed up after such a short life span) and they have only been out of warranty 3 months. Turbo Technics have promised approx 2/3 days turnaround as my car is sat in the garage on the ramp taking up busy valuable space. The only downside is that i am gonna miss going to Billing on Saturday in my Z, but fingers crossed I will have the car back by then.
