Leaving the world of the Zed

Just thought I'd let you all know that I have just today confirmed the trading in of my Zed for a minted Midnight Purple Skyline R33 GTR.

Took it out for a spin the other day and believe it or not my Zed was just a wee bit quicker, different power delivery altogether but Zed was quicker. I believe new downpipes and a wee Cat bypass will sort that problem out.

I will remain a member here though as the chat is often very good and you never know......when the kids are older and can cycle themselves around I could be tempted back to the fold.

Cheers

Good luck with the skyline... got any piccies of your new beast?

Def something I might consider in the future but I think an R34 would more likely be on the cards....

Good luck with the R33, very nice cars, show us some pics!

Good luck mate...wife wants a skyline to replace her Volvo.....OK!!!!!!! :hyper:

This is the very car I have purchased but the wheels are entirely different. These white ones are naff.

I'll update the photos once I pick it up on Wednesday.

This is a shitty mock up of how it will look with the 18" wheels on her.

My wife wasn't keen but as soon as she saw it, totally changed her mind. I can't get her insured on it though but it's only £662 for me fully comp.

I've had to try the baby seats in the back and everything fits perfectly. Much bigger inside than you might imagine, and in fact the boot takes a buggy and a set of gold clubs nae bother.

Nice.

You will have to keep in touch and tell us if the maintance of these cars are as much as the Z LOL

How much is cost mate?

I've paid £16,500 for this one, grade 4.5, 52,000 miles with full Jap service history, no modifications expect twin HKS intake and exhaust (cats still there though).

Very, very tidy motor, feels much mure substantial than the Zed and seeing as it is for the kids ;) I don't grudge it that much.

As for running costs, I would expect the it to be fairly similar to the Zed - about 18 mpg, £160 basic service every 4,500 miles, maybe the only difference is that in being several years younger than my Zed it will be in just generally better nick, with less 'wee' things needing tinkered with.

I will certainly keep you posted
