Just been watching the repeat of 5th gear on Discovery H&L, the one where they drove a Volvo and BMW straight at each other at 69mph!!!!

ย

If you've never seen it, they had both cars wired-up with remote control, and both cars were travelling towards each other. The impact was unbeleivable, if you every get the chance to see it again, then you must.

All I can say is ****ing Hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It certainly hits home, both driving positions are totally wiped out with half the engine in the car

what about the one with the Range Rover performing and emergency brake & swerve @ 45 mph

I used to have a Disco and considered it 'safer' for me kids :o

Yeah it is true that is what happens to cars at those sort of speeds and lower!

Remember guys enjoy your cars but be safe, put the egos down when you pick up your car keys!

You missed the other one last night then where they had a simulated m'way pile-up? First of all a metro into the back of a stack of cars (traffic jam) at 70mph, shortly followed by a merc. The uno in the pack was literally crushed to a small box - ANYONE inside would have had zero chance. As usual the big car completely gets away with it with zero interior deformation. Really makes you think about your driving...

yeah I saw that last night too! That Fiat Uno wasn't reconisable the front wheels were about 6 inches from the rear ones....
