Well TBH I can't answer that question,It all depends on how good your engine is,what mods you have etc.

I ran 16psi without any det, that was on uprated intercoolers.I would say have your engine checked before you up your boost as there has being a few that have died of late,These engines are now getting a little long in the tooth so great care should be taken IMHO;)

suppose i will get it thoroughly checked over. Does indeed run sweet but the only thing that worries me is why the hell it falls into safety mode after i boot it maybe 2-3 times

 

Also Mac what is your opinion on the Blitz Dual Solenoid Boost Controller?? The one i have is that i bought off 'wild turkey' who blew his engine a few years back and then decided to buy a BMW....not sure if u remember? really nice fella... anyway u know my engine got toasted, it was after having the DSBC in for a few weeks....you reck there is any connection? saying that the engine i had in before that wasnt exactly fitted by a professionals from what the previous owner told me, he always had probs with it...over heating, rough idle and as you know when it was last changed, my best mate Vijay(you are still my true love mate:D) did tell me they found loads wrong with it..so suppose that could have been a major factor....
