I have a very low powered CO2 air rifle and a blank firing revolver. Both of which they took away for checking.

 

Had to go to the staition and be interviewed on tape. After that they tell me the blank gun is a prohibited weapon!!!!

 

I am scared shiteless now that I'm gonna be put away for a toy gun that has never left the house!

 

And another moan was i asked them to call my girlfriend as one of my rights for them to inform someone where i was and they didn't do it!

all this has made me think twice about buying a crossbow from ebay, dont know why/how/where Id use it - I just fancied one.

"takemetothepub" - looks like your local plod-shop have been leased the National Police Brain Cell for this week. This means that they know that there is 'something bad' about guns, but they have not got a bleedin' clue what! :rolleyes:

 

With the starting pistol you'll be Ok, and as long as the co2 has not been 'souped-up' you'll be OK.

 

Basically the police have not got a clue what they are doing, so they are putting the frighteners on you. When it all blows over and they realise they can't 'do' you for anything you will be so thankful to 'get-away' that you;ll forget to complain!

I think it is still law that you have the right to own a bow and arrows. I think it is still law that every boy over the age of 12 has to learn how to use one.

It may be folklore, but football is meant to be technically illegal because it distracts people from Archery practice. Wish this was enforced, would have save a lot of English stress recently

Its also not illegal to kill some one between 12 and 2 on a village green on a sunday with a bow and arrow. Any one killed with one, its classed as an accident as every one should be practising between those times on a Sunday.

 

You will also find that most country halls or manors will have a stretch of grass which is perfect archary length. From a time when you had to practice.

 

We have some mean archary hunting tips in our house. A triangle blade sharper than a razor with a smaller triangle inside it at 90º to it. Nasty.

I could be wrong but think the reason that football was banned (and still is) is trhat it was played at universities in teams of up to 150 a side and they realised that too many of the budding young doctors/ lawyers etc were getting hurt. So it seems its always been a game for p00fs .lol

I got an automatic BB gun from "i want one of those dot com" its fceking scary at 50ft, have your eye out.

I still cant believe that it's illegal to own a decomissioned/blank firing pistol? I mean ffs fair enough if it has been converted. Ridiculous. This country is stupid about guns.

Yup, agree, anyone who points a gun - be it real or replica - should be prepared to face up to their actions and take the consequenses. If they are shot by AR teams - FINE! However, why should replicas be banned? If you are a responsible gun owner, why should you be penalised because of idiots?

...and anyone could nick you car and use it for a hit and run or a bank job. What's your point? Oh, and guns are not as dangerous as you might think. Most people I know (especially at the shooting club I USED to go to) couldn't hit a barn door at 20 paces!! :rofl: :slap: Also, it very much depends on WHERE you are hit. I know of people who have been hit by over 20 rounds of 9mm and are still alive!! People get shot in the head....and live!

 

As for knives.......they BANNED hunting/combat knives. Have stabbings gone down?....I don't fugging think so! Why? Because combat knives were not the problem. If you were up for stabbing someone would you go out and spend over £100 on some HUGE specialist heavy knife, or would you pop down to Tesco or the Pound shop and get some cheap little 'pig-sticker' that can dissapear into the kitchen drawer or into the canal?

Practically every household in Switzerland has gun, including automatic machine guns and assault rifles, and has one of the lowest crime rates in Europe where almost 50% of all crime is commited by foreigners :(

 

Difference is that they are allegedly taught how to care for & handle guns from school age.

 

The conflicting arguement is America tho' :( unfortunately our youth is more akin to the US youth than like Swiss youth.
