probably a strange thing to ask about on here. Now this may cause a few different oppinions to surface, but what type of mortgage would you guys suggest? I have no idea. there is so many types.

you want a repayment, not an endownment. if its your first house i recommend you get a fixed rate for say 2 years, that way youll know exactly what you have to pay and youll get used to it and be able to busget your finances accordingly without worrying about it going up!

Try to get a fixed rate one - interest rates have gone up again this week. I've just got one from the Halifax, fixed for 5 years. I don't think rates will go down from their current postition judging by the state of thye housing market.
