Anyone who has had an insurance claim recently - how much did it affect your premium?

Was 1 month away from 3 years NCB :(

Cheers

I had 8 years NCB when I had a 'fault' accident a few years ago. It reduced my NCB to 4 years. Didn't totally wipe it out, but you had quite a bit less, so....... :(

that whole NCB thing is a con anyway, try phoning your insurance and asking for a plain quote, thenm compare it to what you are paying, I will bet that the difference, if any, bears any relevance to your "No Claims Bonus"............W@NKERS

Used to work in insurance great little trick...get car insurance from someone who doesnt charge anything upfront ie covers you and takes money by direct debit weeks later and say you have full NCB , wait till the policy arrives take a copy of it send it all back and cancel it. Then take another policy out with someone else and use the copy as proof of NCB, i did this when i was 20 and got full NCB and have ever since. At least i have actually earn't it now

Won't the first company ask for proof of no claims bonus??

This could be very handy for me!!!!

Past experience seems to say you normally drop back two years per claim unless it's a total loss.

No cos its done over the phone and you get usually a month to prove your NCB...but it will say on the insurance docs what you have told them, this is what you use to prove it to another insurance company...bit dodgy but then again most insurance companies are dodgy anyway

It seems to be almost 50% for 4 years on the Leon... I know this because the :xxx: at the PO lost my proof documents so Eagle Star changed the direct debit and sent me a nasty letter. So currently I'm paying zero NCB until I do some more paper shuffling!
