Hello All,

I have just got my very first Nissan 300ZX. It's a Japanese import 3ltr V6 None turbo version, a Fairlady Z. I love it. My last car was a 200SX and I just had to upgrade.

The sit looks quite informative so I should be poping on adn off here a fair bit. So far, So good.

Well, I have just been out in it, (its and auto too) and I'm doing 35-40mph, so I switch on the CC (the green light comes on), then pulled the leaver to set it and took my foot of the gas to see if it kicked in....nothing, the car just decelerated as it would if the CC was off., I even moved the leaver to accelerate and nothing happened...Is the CC stuffed and if so how can I fix it or will it have to go to a garage.

What lever did you pull to set it??

You should press the 'set' button on the steering wheel to set the CC speed.

Hmmm, i did read somewhere that there is a ''Bypass''

that can be done to enable the CC to work at higher

speeds, perhaps this has been done to yours?

Mines an auto, but the CC won't work over 60mph

Yes, you can modify the cruise to change the range from around 68mph (110kph or so) to around 94mph. That's what I did to mine. http://www.neuralmotion.com/forum/tech/ascd.htm

If the car's had an electronic kph to mph conversion done on it, the cruise may work up to 110mph or so too, depending on where the converter box was placed.

Give it a year you'll have a turbo i got a beautiful import which is nice but nothing happens when you put your foot down........now i've got a TT for two months and it's still not fast enough.......welcome though it's a great site still not been to a meet yet but now i've a car worthy to show i'll pop along to the next one!

Huh what Lever? should be a switch to the rh side of the wheel above the foglight switch and below the rear window heater switch to turn it on, then use the set/coast and resume/accel buttons on the steering wheel to set it...

mines an import jap tt, been kph/mph converted but cc still only works up to about 67.
So presumably you still have the 112mph limiter too?

I have a switch by wheel to turn the CC on, then there is a leaver on the stearign column to set/cancel/accelerate the CC. It's an import don't forget, 1993 build.

So presumably you still have the 112mph limiter too?

considering I blew a scooby to bits yesterday at 147mph(not bad for safety boost !!) I dont think its limited matey :D

Hmm. So have you had just the limiter removed or had the car chipped? I would have thought that if the speedo conversion had removed the limiter, it would have changed the cruise limiter too.

not chipped matey, just de-restricted. I am told the cruise limiter is down to whreabouts it is fitted - not sure though.

have to admit it is a pita not to be able to use the cruise at higher speeds

Thanks Dave Marley, i'll look into that.

Mines still in km's, had 112mph limiter bypassed,

been chipped & boost jetted. Not too fussed about

the CC, but would be nice to cruise higher than 60mph! :)

Mine is a 1990 Jimp had the MPH conversion done(Luke), cruise control does NOT work below 38mph works on all higher speeds though.Apparently this is how it's mean't to be!??????Unless someone knows better?
