Personally I think the overall aim should be to try and maximise the paid membership!

 

Trying to get the balance right between welcoming noobies into the fold and getting their money that way and getting their money by exclusion, is a difficult balance to achieve!

 

Try not to think of this as I have paid my money and they all should, but how can we get more paid members in the club. Thereby increasing benefits for everyone, traders and members alike, the bigger the club is, the better.

There should be more restrictions for people who don't pay up. When I first got my Zed not long ago, this forum gave me so much help.

 

So it fair for people to support, the forum :)

MONDEO bodykit, whoever fitted it did a good job, i couldn't tell the

i think it should be activly encouraged for subscribed members to humiliate the tight arses into paying. we should look down at the scrounging scum & treat them as outcasts :D

before you start labeling us as scum be aware some of us have given away more 300 stuff away and charged nothing for it not even the postage than the £20 cost to subscribe..........those that dont subscribe or at least some were on here a long time before the subs thing came into being and also id get far more discount on my own than saying im from the 300 forum....dont get me wrong this yr if i do keep a z i will divvy up but please bear in mind you all keep saying £20 is nothing but every other orginisation i know at least gives you something back be it club mag club logo sticker etc etc....but with the forum you dont get anything and as i said previously you dont have any amongst those who would say they are the clubs runners actively seeking out club insurance discounts etc etc....i seem to remember having this orange box rant last year but ill mention it again just because i am not one to just sit by and take it in the ass purely and simply because some people think £20 is nothing

Although your views are, indeed well presented, may I just say that you are wrong!! You do get the club logo sticker, in fact you get two of them, one for each side of your Z :D But then you wouldnt no that, cus your not subscribed yet.

Last year there was the thread about FREELOADING, and at that time I wasn't subscribed, and got involved in that thread. At that time my views were my views, and I still stick by them. And i also said that I would join as soon as I could. I now have my Z and I'm subscribed, and also with the knowledge that I'm ataining, I'm trying to help others out. I didn't join for a sticker, mug, Tee-Shirt or anything else other than I find this site very helpful, and informative ( beyond the bitching :rolleyes: ). I want the site to remain, and know that when I have a problem, there is someone somewhere that'll know what may be wrong.

 

Right, I'm off the soap-box now, someone elses turn :D

Got to agree about thenot clearing out the members after 2 months as other forums dont do this to us, and places like sxoc have helped us lot out in the past when our forums been down, wouldnt be fair to lock any of them out that visit us.

 

How about using that sponge pic as an automatic avatar at 100 posts, that people can remove when they get their wallet out?!!!! :)

Tooley - i know many people have helped other members on here a hell of a lot, & your right, you dont have to pay £20 subs to help others. i have helped out quite a few forum members myself!

 

BUT - thats not quite the point is it? the £20 is to go towards the running of this forum. if people dont pay up then there will be no forum for members, currently paid or otherwise, to ask for help!!!

 

BTW i know a few long standing members here are now zedless, & i see no need for any of you to pay! :)

No offence to Tooley, I realise he is one of the 'original' group that predate the board, but I'm pretty sure the other people from that time who are still around have paid their £20.

Be fair, I don't suppose the other clubs were dishisng out stickers, mags etc. when they first started. And this is still a very young club.

 

I think you are taking the "£20 is nothing" out of context, I value every penny I earn and I truely beleive £20 is a worthy investment to keep the club running. Web space, server, software has to be accounted for. And as for the people who run this place, BRAVO, I know I do not have the time to volenteer my time into it....

I've stated to Mods numerous times now am totally against non paid members being allowed to advertise in the forsale section, for free they get to sell their wordly goods, Z related or not, private or trader, this would stop if they paid 20 quid to join properly, if it didn't stop completly at least the club get some funds out of it, so in short "General section only" the rest for veiwing only.
