Has anyone done this sort of thing? Sounds good fun, ragging the car up an airfield as fast as it will go!

What do you reckon the 300ZX will reach within the 1.57miles (I think) - will it have reached top speed by then?

And what d'yall reckon would be a good MPH result for a stock TT, and what effect with various mods? BHP is King I guess. We should do pretty well with our big engines and good pulling power at high speeds over say the 2.0litre Scoobies.

Just provoking discussion on a topic we dont really get to try out on the roads :)

Cheers

Pete

I reckon a stocker will get to about 130 over 1.57 miles.

The first SXOC TSC a stocker Zed got to 130 over 1.7 miles.

I got a measly 143. :(

Only 130? Stock terminal velocity at 0.25 miles is 100mph... Surely the last 1.37 (I think lol ;) ) would give more than a 30mph increase no?

weird innit, Eddy did the second (or third one) and got a much better speed, but his car wasn't stock.

It then spent the next 12 months in SE being fixed. :(

12 months...thats quick isnt it lol? Can they track your speed throughout the run (laser device?) or just as you pass the finish? For those that blow up lol ...

Theres a great dual carriageway near me , only about 1.2 miles long but i can get 140 and stop for the roundabout,

surely 130 over 1.57 miles is diabolical no offence,

mines almost stock , just a decat.

:(:( 130 please tell me a stock Z does more than that.....My probe does 147.3 mhp:D and Pete can vouch it is fast...;)

I'm sure a stock zed'll do quicker than 130 lol :) Yeah Matts Probe is one mean mutha! No match for a zed though Matt right? ;)

:slap: Pete even im not that foolish to go against a TT ;)

Anorak warning - Autocar road test got stock 90 manual TT at 129mph at 1 kilometre so about 0.6 miles and 25.6 seconds. So leaves you with almost a mile left and much less than 30 seconds left since your already going at more than 2 miles a minute. Doubt if the stock TT would see a real 145 before you crapped it and went for the brakes assuming you intend to stop before the runway ends;)

2 to 2.5 miles is probably what you'd need to hit true 155.

156.3 mph unlimited at Elvington airfield at 1.25miles and ran out of track

13.12 1/4mile

ps,old engine 95,000miles

Ahh those were the days :D Although my 200sx wangled 138 @ the first ever TSC event and 14.5 quarter mile, not bad for a car that cost £1500.

Have had 180 indicated on my zed yonks ago with Mr Carter off the SXOC weighing the car down, he commented that it was well within the 1.7 miles or so needed for TSC, I miss the power my car had then. On that TSC day my car was really knackered, some people think the pistons were gone before I got there (I dunno) and even after the re-build has never felt quick at top end anymore :( Which is why I am badgering Pete to finish the tuning job. If the zed feels quick enough again, it will be worth doing the next TSC event.

I won't be running my Zed this year at SXOC's TSC however I would urge some other zed boys to give it a go. I've already hassled 51x to attend TSC as I think he's got a 200+ car, but I think he has other commitments. Perhaps Simon I cold borrow your motor for the day
