Well, the winter weather finally tried to Kill my Zed lastnight!

My sis was driving me and my girlfriend home from the pub (we were pished, she wasn't) when we hit black-ice at about 70mph, fishtailed left and right a bit then slammed into a metal barrier. The rear quarter is now shaped like mashed potato and the bumper, light cluster and mounting bar are beyond repair.

We were all well belted in and no-one was even bruised , thank god!!!!

But I now need to find a rear bumper (uk spec if possible), the aluminium mounting bar and a passenger side rear light cluster (or both rear lights if you don't wanna separate).

If anyone has any of these parts, please, PLEASE give first dibs on them cos i really need to get the Zed back on the road a.s.a.p! My e-mail is gdbyford@hotmail.com or post here.

Cheers Guys!

A very sad Glenn..... :(

If its any consolation, I hit my z last night, damamaged all the n/s/f lower suspension, i have already sent a message to Andyz for assistence, starting to talk about it now, was well annoyed last night though

Oh shit :( Sorry to hear that (both of you!!) Bloody winter is proviing a nightmare for zeds this year

Glad you're ok, have lots of beers.

Pete

Glad every one is OK first!

Glenn, was the slide caused by power? Ie did the rear wheels spin on the ice causing the back end to kick out?

If so I think you should consider Traction Control as that is the type of thing it will help against.

Shunter, if you damaged the suspention I would get it checked out on a jig as it may have caused some more damage that what you can see.

Stuart

Why is everyone crashing there z's?

Im scared to drive it now!!

Glad you're all ok!

im really sorry to hear about that both of ya! in the same shoes, am thinking about traction control now as skidding on ice isnt the kinda thing you can see coming most of the time.

well atleast no one was hurt!

hope you get all you bits soon and back on the road

Sorry to hear mates - it's definitely a bad winter for Zeds.

Geoff.

SRRae,

thanks for the advice, but it was only a low speed impact, enough to do damage though, front end broke away, sent me straight into a kerb, have numbed the pain with a few pints of the black stuff, hoping Andyz gets back to me a bit quick so i can replace knackered parts, retrack it, and learn how to drive
