I spent the day with Stuart (SRRAE) doing some jobs on my Z.

First of all we (well, mainly Stu!) replaced the front discs and put new pads on all round.

I think it was about time they were changed:-

We also used his patented can of beans trick to find a boost leak that I had suspected.

I think this may have caused a problem :-

We re-tested for leaks and there is another sizeable leak somewhere else, unfortunately we couldn't spot it (we could hear it) and will have to re-visit this. The car does feel quicker now and should be able to stop once the pads have bedded-in.

A massive thanks to Stu who put up with my mechanical ineptitude- I owe you one mate ;)

Tell them the full story!

What about Pemberton Tyres!!!!!! Tell them the truth why you had to get a 2nd hand tyre!

£25 for part worn front. Dunlop too, good deal I think.

LOL yeah, when we got the wheels off, the front drivers side tyre was worn down to the wires on the inner edges  as Stu said, I got a very good deal from Pemberton.

Just a bit of a 'ball-ache' having to get a tyre though; I'll be getting a set of 18's when my Blitz alloys turn up

Could've washed your hands FFS!

The standard of grease monkey on here is falling...

You seen how think hes brake pads are. All of that dust fell on my hands when I took the wheel off ;)

I will be crubbing them for weeks and it still wont come out. ;)

You really wanna get some rubber gloves - a bit like doctors gloves. Otherwise you'll end up with permadirt in your fingerprints and rotting skin, especially as them brake pads look like they're old enough to be from the asbestos ages ;)

Nice one Dave, and Stu;) don't let them get in that state again:rolleyes:   as one day you may have to brake real hard to prevent an accident!

You didnt see his tyre. When I asked him how long he has had them he said 3 years. When I took them off, the outside edge of one has worn down to the wire layer. I think Dave was a little shocked at that. Think it gave us a reality check as that could have blown out at any time.
