He/ she does has to give you a warning. BUT..... picture this scenario :

Z Meet in the South East, someone complains about your loud exhaust. Officers arrive, you get a warning.

Then you decide to attend a Z meet in say the Midlands 3 months later and have your stereo on loud. You have already been warned about your 'causing a nuisance' 3 months earlier, although in a different location and for a different reason. It doesn't matter, you are on the register as having been warned and you car gets seized. There are no time limits, and the nature of 'causing a nuisance' doesn't matter either and you don't have to be doing burnouts/racing etc, it's all about a perceived nuisance from any other member of the public.

I certainly aint no pimply spotty baseball cap on backwards cruiser type, but as long as they are not pissing about in a central area with lots of 'civilians' around I don't have a problem with it.

The police in my area keep closing down the Stockley Park meeting (Ok, so someone did get killed a while ago, shame) BUT, if it's in an out of the way place, and everyone there is there for the 'cruise' then why not do a few burn-outs and doughnuts?

Ever been to a race track? There are signs everywhere saying something to the effect of:- "motor sport is dangerous, so watch out and don't come crying to us if you get hit by a lump of debris from a crash!"

For Christs sake lets get this into perspective. I am so sick of this sanitised virtual life that keeps being rammed down our throats. Hey, life is dangerous and there's no guarantee that you're going to exit through old sodding age! Sod off and live in 'cotton wool perfect land'. Keep your bloody eyes open and you brain in gear!

As for the 'LAW' on this, well it's no surprise. Have you noticed how VAGUE all these new laws are? It used to be the fact that the 'law' was very detailed and specific. All these new laws are to do with 'possible' or 'likely'. WTF does that mean???!?!?!

Oh, and by the way, were you aware that you can get put away if you and FOUR mates get together in YOUR OWN HOME!!!! Our Nazi State Police and politicians think you are up to no good if you have friends, and are plotting their down-fall! I bloody WISH!!

Thats my rant for the morning over:D

The trouble is cruises are generally in town centres and seafronts so they are innocent bystanders about.

Unlike at a motorsport event where everyone knows there are going to be cars hurtling about at dangerous speeds and there are safety measures in place (when was the last time you saw trained stewards, ambulances and fire engines at an illegal cruise?)

Also race tracks have public liabilty insurance so if someone is injured or killed, the insurance covers the bill.

It's one thing giving the car some welly in a sensible envoirment it's another thing treating a car like a toy where there are a lot of bystanders next to the car milling about.

Don't say it can't happen, because it can and does, car gets grip during a doughnut and spins the wrong way or drivers get confused and throw the car the wrong way.

At a race track no one is within harms way so damage is limited, also racing drivers are pros, they are trained to push a car to it's limits and know what to do if it all goes tits up.

That lots more than you can say for your average 20 year old Nova/Saxo/Corsa driver.

I don't believe in being wrapped in cotton wool, but cars are not safe playthings and a Corsa will kill someone just as easily as a Scooby/Zed/Evo etc.

That's my rant over ;)

Cool, perhaps they could go the whole hog and do away with Skegness, Mablethorpe and Weymouth too. They're crap.
