These are the ones I've got. One is slightly bashed in where someone has fitted them to an auto.

Hi Richie

I am getting the feeling that no one wants to help or converse with you unless you are a subscribed member of the forum, would you say I was correct in that assumption or am I getting the vibe wrong ? sorry to bring it up

Hi Marc, I've no problem helping anyone out, as is the same with everybody else here, thing is, 1. I don't like doing business in public, you can "Private message" as a fully paid up member, and 2. This is an excellent Club which helps / advises people all over the world, has great Traders who offer great discounts, but is struggling with fewer and fewer membership subscriptions. This Club is only able to exist on the subscriptions of it's members. On that note, I will always try to drum up new subscriptions (£25), as it is of benefit to both the Club and the subscriber. Subscribing is showing a commitment to both the Club and the Z car, it's a Z family, that helps and assists in one of the most frustrating and troublesome car's I've ever owned. The members encourage and advise when you're ready to throw in the towel (myslef included on more than one occassion).

So, while we will always help out members, we do go the extra mile for people who have committed to the Club. It's a fact everywhere, you'll always get a better response if you're a fully paid up member, as otherwise you can be seen as someone whos "here today, gone tomorrow". 2nd hand Parts are becoming rarer, so it's only fair to say, you'd rather see them going to someone who's invested in their Z.

This is just my opinion though:innocent:

I've got pretty much everything you've looked for in those other "Wanted" ads and much more, with the exception of the centre cubby. I'm based in Ireland though, but shipping isn't that bad anymore.

Hi Richie

I have paid my subscription by Bank Transfer, which was £25 not £20 incidentally but the thread to notify anyone of the fact that I have paid appears to be closed, so I don't know how I let anyone know.

I am a member of several Car Club forums as I have been bitten by the old Jap car bug, I understand your point of view however in my experience of the Clubs I belong to the most helpful are the ones that do not insist on a subscription to allow you to join in, I always try and help anyone who is interested in any Marque in which I have a interest, one Club that insists on a subscription who will remain nameless were no more helpful once I had subscribed than they were beforehand which was disappointing and I hope that this is not the case on this occasion, I am not a here today gone tomorrow sort of person, I am in my own way trying to preserve my favourite Japanese sports cars as I can afford to I jointed the 300ZX forum some considerable time ago but only recently found the specification car I wanted at a price I could afford, however as you said in your reply these cars appear more troublesome than I expected and certainly more fragile than my other two Nissans which has surprised me, but as it is on my List of "Cars I really need to own" I had to find one eventually problem is I think my enthusiasm has meant I have ended up with a dog.

However I have started the process and want to at least have the car roadworthy and everything working

Best Regards

I just re-subscribed myself, had forgotten the fees changed after the AGM, apologies for mis-informing you. (Have edited my post). I wasn't having a go at you matey, just trying to bump up subscriptions, as due to being an older car with lots of maintenance and having stronger parts for the S body drift boys, more and more people are breaking them. This means there's less people owning these great cars, so less of a membership. I'll give one of the guys a shout regarding your subscription and I personally would like to thank you for your support of, what is, a Great Club. You can also stick up a new thread in the Membership & Enquiries section, as you can see, I have done myself:thumbup1:

Hi Marc,

many thanks for subscribing.

we don't insist on joining, as help and advice being available for free has always been the ethos of the club forum since it's inception back in the 90's.

We do insist on subscribing if you want to sell anything, but not if you just want to buy.

However, as Richie described, many of the members would prefer to deal with people who are supporting the club, because you hope that subscribed members are invested into the community more. Also, the private messaging system is a subscriber benefit.

The majority of the subscription goes to the cost of hosting our own server and software, and the Public Liability Insurance that covers us for any meets or displays, particularly at Coventry, NEC, etc. With a little left over for hosting the AGM buffet, trophies, and other member benefits.

We don't rely on free server and hosting space, or the resource of Facebook etc, we try to keep ourselves secure and self reliant on our own merits.

regards,

Craig

edit: with paypal, your user status changes automatically on subscription, but with bank transfer it has to be done manually by a committee member, so you will see the changes shortly, once that has been done.
