ive never had a prob with 02 before but just got a new sony z3 phone, usual free unlimited texts and mins, 2gb data wuhich renews on the 6th of every month, first month was great 2gb data on 4g very fast and working great, second month (january) using my phone and got a text saying that i had used up this months data allowence (this was the 8th or thereabouts of january) it should have renewed on the 6th

phoned 02 and they said that they could see that i had 2gb of data to use and could see they text me to say i had used it and stopped my data, couldnt explain it and gave me a 1gb of data bolt on, data back up and running but today went off again and said i had used the 1gb (use my phone to tether laptop sometimes) phoned them up for another 1gb bolt as im paying for 2 and they told me they couldnt add another free one as i had used all 3gb of data ( i havent)

so after loads of calls today and tinterweb searching im no further on, i have actually paid for another 1gb data bolt on and even that hasnt come on, they are adamant that i have used 3 but when i log into my account its telling me i still have 1.92gb to use this month

anyone had this problem as im well sick of it now

thanks

allan

haha, not this time mate, but ya could re-map me phone and get it to work properly lol

Tethering a laptop will chew data like its going out of fashion

In fact I don't think that's in your allowance and they may charge separately for that

stop looking at internet boobs mate. As Tony has said, you'll quickly eat through 1GB on fiber speeds (4G). Are you positive that you haven't used it up just by browsing etc. As an idea; one HD movie would be around 3GB.

the day it should have refreshed it ended, and my account is showing i have 1.92gb to use, they admit there is a problem but dont know why lol

the tethering is only about 10 mins every now then (do online housing benefit forms now and then)

thanks guys

I'd ask to speak to a supervisor mate, somethings not right there.

Why not get a pay as you go 4g dongle for your laptop or tablet and not use your phone for tethering ?

Or is the phone running loads of Apps that are all connected and downloading ?

Thats the thing tony, my phone isnt using my data its just 02 not activating it when they say they have

I tried 3 for a while but their signal was worse where I live and in a couple of the locations I work at. So back to O2. They do include tethering where (when I looked last year and they change quite a lot) 3 you only got tethering on one of the top packages.

Being in the "getting internet into rural locations" business, I have to go all over the place and by-and-large O2 has widest coverage where I have to go (plus free wi-fi when in one of their hotspots). That said, there are a couple of "holes" where EE works and O2 doesn't. So first, choose your network by coverage where you need it, then compare deals from the relevant network.

I use both my Windows Phone and laptop and so far (several years) have not had an issue with O2 data amounts or data counters when either on PAYG or PAYM. The one on my phone pretty much agrees with the one on the account. That said, they're not perfect (no-one is) so if you think you have a valid error as described, keep going. I've had OK results through their chat although it can take a little patience. Best of British.

been into the shop today, proved it wasnt the device, they also went into the account and finally realised that i was on a shared data plan with my boss phone and only recieveing 200mb of data a month

they said it was their fault and i have to phone customer services tomorrow to switch back to a standard account. not sure why they suddenly switched me over lol

thanks everyone
