Does anyone have their tv mounted on the wall? If so, how far off the floor is it? From floor to bottom of tv.

 

Also going to drill a hole into the chimney to hang the wires out of sight.

 

Can i extend the plug for the tv like extending any other plug or do i need special tv wire?

You can have it any height you want but not to high or you will have a sore neck. As for the cable it is just an ordinary cable nothing special about it.

Best bet would be to sit down where you normally watch it from and get some mates to move it up and down the wall till you find the best viewing angle.

Or, rather than hefting the tv around, use something like a flattened cardboard box or a towel to look at. Save every bodies backs!!

wuss, there's bugger all weight in a flat screen.

I've never been a fan of sticking a tv to the wall, it's too restrictive for me, and it makes the cables even more of a bugger to get at!

I find the best viewing for a flat screen is centre of the screen at eye level when your sat on the couch, people seem to have them too high, and as Gaz says, you will get a sore neck. From the floor, my 50" is 90cm to centre of screen :)

Sounds like your house is in some kind of 3rd dimension that doesn't go with the normal rules of reality Daz if it turns 50" to 90cm when away from the floor??? Lol
