like i said before she really misses icecream when its hot n everyone else is eating it..so looking for a recipe for ice cream..shes coming down for dinner nxt weekend iv got pasta bolinese(dunno how to spell it) with brown pasta just need the special desert

to be honest mate ,

ive had type 1 for 28 years now . a little bit of ice cream aint gonna hurt anyone , im guessing that shes recently been diagnosed and so is being extra cautious . dont take her to the cake shop for a date and buy her flowers instead of chocholates .

like she had to give up in her last 2 months of getting her masters in theoretical phyisics..i know i cant belive im with her either because she felt she couldnt handle it mentaly..i recon felling under the weather then gettin told its because youv got diabietes takes its toll..

but have you any advice on heping dealing with it?

yea she found out 9 months ago...but we havnt seen each other for various reasons untill a few weeks ago..

she said the biggest thing was getting into the roughtine on cheching her blood levels and resisting the urge for chocolate.lo

to be totally honest mate some days you feel supurb and can take on anything and other days you feel like shit . a bit like pmt i suppose. always carry a chochoate bar with you in case of emergencies but to be perfectly honest , treat her exactly the same as any other girl .

regarding the dinner , if shes type 1 im assuming shes taking insulin , probably a basul/bolus regime . this means that she takes 1 type of insulin in the morning or evening witch lasts for 24 hours and the other type each and every time she eats . if she eats something containg a few more carbohydrates (i.e. ice cream) then she will have to take a little more insulin .

dont worry mate it becomes second nature after a while.
