Any other sufferers on here will feel my pain. It is excrutiating, and all because i've started training, cut right down on the drink, introduced meat into my diet and lost a stone in weight. How can that be fair!!!!! :censored:

That Jane, is an attack of gout in all its raging glory. The pain has made me physically sick. It is unbearable.

Ouch! Have you got NSAIDs to take?

Hope it clear soon, looks very painful :crying:

Def go back to being veggie, I'm sure too much meat can cause gout attacks. Quorn rocks.....

Alan, you understand my pain. That looks sore as!!! The pics don't do the pain justice. Are you on regular meds or just when you have an attack? I will never be without ever again.

Flicky Bean. I'm self employed and have had to have 3 days of work. Got no money for beer, or anything else :helpsmilie:

Have a box left from the last attack, so keep them tucked away just in case ?

Not on routine meds, just when it attacks me !

Apparently a good way to prevent it is to drink loads ? The more you drink helps to keep the crystals small and they dont form as quick at the joint. I am not a fan of squash or diluted juice, but make a bottle up every morning to take to work, about a litre and a half and so far, touch wood, it hasnt happened since ! Stout based beers are worse than lager as well, so they say ? Even the weight of the quilt in bed is agony !

Having a 8 year old cat launch itself from the windowsill right over the edge of the bed and squarely on my foot was a real eye opener !!

If its sore just now, as a short term relief, place your foot in a basin of the hottest water you can stand for about 5 mins, and then take it out and cover it in ice. Or a bag of sweetcorn/peas etc It does help !

Sweetcorn tastes funny later though !! lol.

Mate, I wanted to cry it was that painfull. Serves me right really, a few years ago my best mate informed me he had gout and i nearly wet myself. Continued to rip the piss, 6 months later i got my first attack.

I've normally got some of his pills about me, but didn't have any this time. Felt it coming on last thursday but thought because i'm on a health kick it would be a mild one and i'd be okay.

How wrong could i be......

At least i've got my own meds now, and I won't be running out ever again let me tell you.

i would really like to take the piss out of you but after you say this im not going to as i dont want to get it. lol. feel sorry for ya pal. have you been in good health up to getting it though??

Haven't been as fit or healthy for years. Just one of those things i suppose. The doc said losing weight can bring it on. So i'm gonna get fat again lol

us lot are great. we should get a club hospital going with janus as our nurse. lmao. steamy cant sleep. daffy cant walk and im allways doing silly things at work.

do that as well mate,'cept the at work bit.

if thats what you get from being a veggie and not drinking. Glad im drinking a few stellas, and having a nice lamb madras....

Looks really hot, not in that way, but like on fire hot, hope the med's kick in soon bud, remember it takes 24hrs to start knocking it on the head.

But take pain killers to ease.

:scared:

Does anyone sleep walk and bump into things?

No but I woke up once needing a pee got out of bed and couldn't feel my legs. Went don't like a sack of shite, cat nearly had a heart attack as well
