the zed was faster than the M3, i did the bridge test and was 10mph slower in the M3, but no matter as the BMW is a much more refined and better car to drive

 

from a standing start (traffic lights) i take off and go round a corner onto a dual carrigway, there is a slight bend (barely noticable) then straight, then a good blast where there is a walk over bridge that goes across the dual carrigeway, the zed would get to 110mph and after many times of trying the M3 only gets to 100mph

 

all on my simulator though, not public roads lol

 

but its all matterless as i love the M3

yeah im sure you will come back. problem wi the bm's m3 or msports they all look like everyother BM so dont really stand out.

 

They are fantastic cars and well built but i will never swap one for my zed lol!!

I really hate BMW's (no offence stella lol). I just find them REALLY boring cars. I know they can be a lovely ride but now everyone and their granny has one. I passed (or got passed by) about 20 M series BMW's today alone while out walking the dog.

 

The Zed on the other hand, didn't see one (until i got home) :)

Sorry stella, im the same as Knight on this one mate, they all want to race me, cept one with the roof down sitting at a round about on the A45, he gave me a nice little nod in acceptance of a nice car i was driving with the roof panels off while he sat beside me in his M3 with the roof down.

 

But there 10 to the dozen around here. kinda boring to look at due to the amount of them around here, you get accustomed to seeing them all the time. and i really don't care how refined the drive is. BMW drivers around here are always up there own arse.

 

I do how ever like the look of the 3 series M3 vert, but couldn't see my self owning one to be honest.

dave / stella, the biggest problem around here, is its company car of choice for all the wannabe top dogs.

 

Anyway, how much was the indicators as extras, i swear they must cost half the price of the car, as no one who drives the 3 series around here, seems to have got them as the optional extra :tt2:

Strange thing is, i thought the same when i first see one, then when i worked at BMW for a bit, i got the chance to look around a top of the range one. and have to say fell in love with the look when standing in front of it, when the roof was down, plus all the toys it came with. didn't like the price tag from new though.

It should be quite comparable with a chipped 300zx. Not sure what difference there is in performance with the vert though.

 

Are you sure your making use of that 8k rev limit, after driving around in an astra diesel all this time :tt2::rofl:

i reckon round the twistys the m3 may have the edge as you can hang onto the gears without the lag, it is very revvy and a great engine, but straight line i think the zed has it

 

but again my wendyhouse is a bit heavier than coupes so im not sure what a coupe vs zed would be like

nah, the M3 is definatly more on par with a Chipped TT.

 

0-60 4.8 , 0-100 11.5 secs ...etc

 

They weigh about the same, but the M3 is 40-60 extra horsepower from a revvy, responsive NA with power all the way to its 8k limiter.

 

Although like Alan says, the vert is going to be little porkier than the Coupe.

on the M3 site they all moan that verts and coupes are the same, but i reckon not just some people wont say that theirs is slower lol

 

i have beat an impreza sti, but that was higher up the gears not a standing start, would be good to have a go at a standard pratstick off the mark
