i remember one kid in school that had a chopper, the handlebars were blobbed thick with arc welds, kept snapping them jumping ramps and his dad would re-weld them lol,I remember the Grifter and Burner too, there was another well known bmx aswell,silver/chrome and bronze frame?

Yep, I had one. No gears. And there was an even smaller one for tots called the "Budgie" which only had a front brake, istr.

The Grifter was the bomb, even though it weighed a ton. I had a blue one and it was my favourite bike ever.
