AAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Not enough swear words in the world!!!

Yes insurance are going to charge me £145 to cancel my insurance policy with them! Only had the policy since 2 December, the annual premium was only 300 notes!! Robbing effing ***** :cursing: :cursing: :cursing:

Found a fab deal for, get this £17 a month for both me and Marc - but now I have to stick with Yes til December or they'll have my eyes out.

OMG I am going to the gym to sweat this one out :cursing:

Thats nasty Janus:thumbdown:

Its daylight effing robbery Gary. I'm bouncing mad! God I miss the days of having a local broker where you could go in and they'd sort you out without all this b0ll0cks. I know its still not a massive premium but I need to keep my costs down where I can, I'll be living on a student bursary soon.

Pfft. Rip off Britain

That'll teach you for changing your car every 3 months  lol

It's a bugger when they do that, i had the same with a car i borrowed off my dad - the policy with Adrian Flux was £360, i paid £160 and after 5 weeks i had to cancel and they wanted £90 more off me to end the policy(!). I ended up refusing to pay until they stopped bombarding me with letter and we settled at £30.

Unfortunately they've got you by the balls... or flaps in your case

Lol - it's only fair...they've gotta get their money off you from somewhere when you're premium is 300 quid when some of us pay 800 for a daily driver! ;) In all seriousness though - most of the cost for the insurance is supposed to be in drawing up the initial documents when you take the policy out? That's perhaps why you don't get much back when cancelling even after just a few months.

Most only charge £25 to cancel

ikwik-fit tryd this with me in november

read your terms and conitions the cancellation should state that a cancellation cost should be £50 quid or the commition on the sale whatever is higher.

give the finacial obusman a fone and raise a complaint

i did this and within two days i got a phone call from kwik-fit and they charged me the £50

hope that helps

Its the £30 change of address ones that get me I tell them im not paying and to keep sending it all to my previous address then they change it for free.

If they CANT offer insurance on your new car they will give you an 100% refund as it is their fault was it a Ferrari you are buying??????

I've just been shafted by Swiftsure for cancelling the ins on my now sold GSi. Makes your blood boil :cursing:

Just changed my Diesel round around .

Was told £25 on the phone.

Bought the car then told £150 because it was a automatic...................

esure...

Baz - Tells it like it is!:lol::lol:

I've been with elephant for a few years and cancelled my existing policy as i sold my previous car...don't remember getting charged for it.

Will have to take a look at my docs tonight as I'm hoping to get a new policy int he next few weeks!

I think it might depend on whether you pay the full amount at start up or pay monthly via DD?

LMAO at Baz's comment! V funny

Thanks all, gonna read the T's and C's later on and see if I have a case to complain. After all there is a massive difference between £37 a month and £17!

And as for my premium being lower than some of yours....well I am old and haver never claimed! :cool3:

Checked the policy docs online, and to cancel within 3 months (policy taken ou 1st Dec 10) its 50% of annual premium, plus £20 cancellation fee plus £15 admin fee. :cursing:

why are you cancelling you policy and who are you with? if you are buying a new car why not just pause the insurance until you have a car to continue it.

Aye its a right rip off, the barstewards have it all their own way :(

Best bet is just to swap cars with them and sit it out.
