i have been thinking for a while now of another car so far my choices are

 

911 996 carrera 4 cabriolet with a nice gt2 front bumper

 

or 911 996 turbo coupe

 

or SL55 amg merc

 

i dont want to spend a lot on one say £20k

 

i love the wow factor of the cabriolet :thumbup:

 

any thought on these cars guys?

i spoke to this chap and in the pics you can see an sl55 amg that was his too lucky b@stid

anyway he actually prefered the sl to the turbo as he found it a little too agresive and the sl was just pure luxury

I imagine the 911 will be a more dynamically focused car, with greater reward when pressing on. The SL will do 90% of the porsche's maximum and be far more relaxed when you're merely cruisin. It also sounds like a Nascar and goes like a dragster. What more could you need? Unless you really, really, really enjoy going as fast as absolutely fookin possible, I'd get the SL. If, however, every twisty road is a special stage from the monaco rally - I'd go for a porsche (but not a 4WD one if you want ultimate involvement)

thanks for all the comments guys it wont be till my shares come out in feb but i always like to do my homework on a car first before buing it as the only ones i liked in that price range was the merk and porsche, as for the boxer well as clarcson said its a great handling car but it just says i cant afford a 911 when your driving it LOL, and the reason i asked for the carrera 4 is im a bit sceptical about the handling all the horror stories about the engine in the back like a big sledge hammer ready to throw you into the hedge at the first sign of your weekness lol,
