It was very good. Cumberbatch is a brilliant actor - Freeman was pretty good too.

The only thing that upset me was that they changed "a 3 pipe problem" - meaning that he would have had to take enough time to smoke 3 pipes to work out a problem - to a "3 nicotine patch problem". Bloody anti-smoking nazi writers! How dare they mess with great literary characters.

ive only seen the 1st one so far and I thought it was fantastic. i have to admit I'm a bit of a SH purist (Ive read the short stories twice and really enjoy watching Jeremy Brett's interpretation).

I thought they brought the new SH up to date really well while keeping some traditional elements in there. both Cumberbatch and Freeman play their characters superbly, but its a shame that Benedict looks a bit too 'weird'. :x:

^ ditto re the 3-patch problem, nice touch but yep too 'modern'
