I think we all know and agree that there is a tremendous club spirit in the club. The amount of help that members give to each other in terms of knowledge, advice etc is really incredible. I have to say that the spirit doesn't die when for one reason or another a member sells up and doesn't "pop around" very often or ever anymore.
Where is all this leading you may ask? Quite a while after I got my slicktop, Legrath dropped me a pm (everybody should subscribe ) and mentioned to me how a previous owner in its original yellow days wanted to make contact and wanted to know if it was ok to do so. The previous owner Simon was a member under the username PK1 I believe. After a few e-mails it turned out that Simon had the original code and FOB to the alarm on the car plus he assured me that during his ownership the car was well maintained and looked after. He wanted to send me the FOB and code. A couple of weeks ago, I came across the old mails from Feb 2009, and dropped another one with my home address. I heard nothing back, so I thought that the e-mail address mightn't have been used anymore. I opened a package that arrived for me the following weekend and low and behold what did it contain? The spare FOB and alarm code! So Simon, not that you will ever really know of this post, but take a bow anyhow. Top man.
I think it is another example of an unquenchable spirit that exists.
