interesting read - a bit disappointing about the Shell product, and it'll take a long time for me to forget about the news about the Tesco 99 ballsing up people's injectors. no idea where to get the BP stuff but it sure looks tasty!

Newbie alert!! I've only just aquired a JDM TT. What fuel should i be using (when i get it going)? Is "normal" unleaded not the way forward?

Your best of using premium 99 fuel mate but the car will run on 95.

In the past V-power/Optimax has always outperformed the BP Ultimate. First time I've seen the Tesco stuff compared.

Does it make a big difference? I.e is it detrimental to either the engine itself, or performance? Using 95 that is.

Jus realised thats the BP 102 stuff.....thats the version avilable barely anywhere and costs a fortune. So may as well rule that one out anyway.

Interesting read. I use both 99 tesco and V-Power, the car feels like it performs the same on both fuels. the BP102 is found at fuel stations near race tracks isn't it?

is the BP stuff the BP ultimate as they do it in the garage down the road from me near M11

There are two versions of the BP Ultimate. The first is the stuff they sell in pretty much all garages, which is the 97/98 ron stuff.

...but the stuff in the test above was the very rare 102ron stuff that only a very small selection of stores carry (near Race tracks) and is very very expensive, something like £2.50 a litre.
