One of the first trips i want to arrange for next year is an annual trip to the nurburgring :)

 

A load of us did this a few years ago and i can honestly say it was one of the best trips i have ever been on :)

 

Just looking to gauge numbers and dates at the moment and IF we get enough people that want to take this up i will go into it in more details and get prices etc.

Count me in fellas, obviously will meet you there as I live in Germany, will stay for the whole trip for sure. Dates wise im unavailable up to and including May.

 

If I can help out with anything this end please give me a shout.

I suppose the next decision will be how long are we going for?

 

Do you want a simple ferry over, drive to the nurberg stay over night then come back?

 

Do you want a few more days and stay at nurberg over night or a couple of nights and somewhere else for a night?

 

or do you want something similar to what we did in 2006 and did a bit of a round journey over 5 days taking in amsterdam, nurbergring and brugge?

 

Now as i had possibly the best holiday i have every had on that trip i would prefer if we are going to do it then do it properly :)

 

Just to recap on what happened in 2006 this was what happened:

 

Caught long crossing ferry from hull (17 hours) to zebrugge - dont let this put you off, a nice meal and several pints and then get your head down in your cabin then your there ;)

 

Drove up to amsterdam, parked up and booked into our hotel and had a night out round amsterdam meeting up with a few members from holland.

 

Drove from amsterdam to nurberg, had a nice meal and a few beers in the hotel then the following day went to the ring, we spent most of the day there watching testing, looking round the place as its huge then went back after 5pm to go on the track :hyper:

 

On the next day we drove through the black forest through some of the most beautiful country and little towns and went to brugge and booked into our hotel there and had a good look round brugge which is simply stunning, then of course a meal a night out.

 

Got up the following day and drove to the ferry and went home.

 

A good time was had by all.

Hull would be a bit of a happy medium for all interested parties, as a meeting point.

Oh excellent! Gives me plenty of time to get saving. You any idea of costings Mike? And i don't expect you to look into your crystal ball if not, just curious lol.

 

I don't mind camping as it would save wonga, but i'm kinda with Daz if i'm honest, a comfy bed and some brekky sounds nice :)

I`ve been thinking about this trip all day and getting exited already. Its something I`ve wanted to do for years now and never got round to organising so I`m up for the full trip, The trip Mike and crew did in 2006 sounds Awesome. So count me in for something similar

I`ve just done a quick autoroute for time and approx fuel costs for the lads from North west. Approx fuel prices at £1.10 per litre at 18mpg and 25mpg, please correct me if im wrong

 

Southport-Hull 132miles 2h20min cost £30

Zebrugge- Amsterdam 172miles 2h35min cost £36

Amsterdam- Nurburg 208miles 3h35min cost £40

Nurburg- Bruges 226miles 3h32min cost £45

Bruges- Zebrugge 17miles 20min Cost £5

Hull-Southport 132miles 2h20min Cost £30

 

Fuel around the Nurburgring OUCH!!!! Could be £100 but who cares??

im going over on the easter weekend next year. Going with a few lads who have been a few times. If there's a decent time gap after that then ill be well up for it. I wouldnt mind making a proper trip of it, Z's were made for driving.

I think if you base the costs on 2 people sharing a room and the ferry your looking at:

 

£140 for the ferry

£20 each night hotel

 

So i recon around £220 each plus fuel and beer money :duffer: but once we get better numbers i will see if we can get a better price from the ferry company and hotels etc :)

with the zeds not been too reliable

 

but fantastic offer from jeff (this blokes too good to be true)

just had my zed down there last week for new cambelt

yeh looks like its going to be a very good trip, i know we will lose alot of the name above as we cannot please everyone with dates etc but even if we get half of the names it will be superb :)
