We have a bus in for repair in the workshop at the moment, with fire damage.

As such, all the interior panels, trim and seats have to be removed because of the smoke damage.

Lifted the very last seat today, near the end of the shift and some tosser had left an open syringe tucked down the seat ! It went straight through my heavy welding gauntlets and stuck in the end of my finger !

Almost three hours in casualty, they must have took most of my blood by the feel of it and then a stonking big jag on my arse to finish off with !!!

Makes you wonder what goes through some peoples minds ?:(

Still, on the brighter side, I can tell the missus there is no nookie for 3 months, that will cheer her up !:)

I am normally very carefull when lifting seats on a bus as you get allsorts down there. Bus has been off the road waiting on Insurance clearance for around 6 weeks, so it should be fine.

As a side note, we lifted a seat last week and there was a full, very smelly kids nappy stuffed down there !:hurl: Apprentice got that one !:)

Alan............

Joking aside thats bad. I got stabbed with a syringe when i worked the door. It scared the life out of me. I feel for you mate.

I empty postboxes at night and i have found loads of syringes in these. Scumbags.

my uncle works drug squad and he got stabbed with one once. Luckily he was ok.

Am guessing its a First Bus with fire damage. Sorry to hear that happened to u m8, I hate taking seats/panels, if yer no lying in someone's p*** its needle alert, the buses are stinking inside, even more so after a fire.

A word of caution, we had a company called 'Burgoines' in trying to tell us what happened with another bus fire, they guy was a bit of a tosser but he said be cautious removing silicone hosing thats been subjected to extreme heat as there is a type of acid thats created that needs a special fluid to neutralise it, melts yer fingers etc. Scared the shit out of me and my gaffer still aint bothered his hole getting us the proper gloves...nothin new there.

Cheers John

We do a lot of evictions etc, had some 'training' on needlestick

injuries, one of the most common places they hide them, is under the light switch, IE: when you press the switch down to turn the light on,

you get jabbed by a needle, apparantly, it's aimed at the coppers.

That warning has been doing the rounds for ages, I was first told of it about 16 yrs ago whilst working in an Iveco dealership If I remember rightly it aint just silicone hoses but a lot of the plastics etc in electrical components and wiring are also a danger, apparently though the conditions and temp of the fire required for this to occur mean that its a rare to actually happen.

Used to find them all the time when I was running a pub in Southampton they used to stick them in the cystan plumber got stabbed a couple of times after the 2nd time he refused to come anymore
