My brother is off to haver a look ar at a 1996 Toyota MR2 on monday, does anyone on here have any experience of these cars and what I should be looking for to tell if ot's any good or not.?

a mate has one a gti 2.0 very nice to drive has had no issues but IMO it seems abit flat might have a problem i dont know

I suppose they have rust in the usual places, arches, sills etc? I DID try to talk him into an N/A Zed but they are 'too big'. numpty!!

Make sure you change gear at high revs while pushing it, will throw up any syncro issuse which 80% of the MR2 gearboxes will have!

it's normally gearbox issues the mr2 suffers from... oh and bent rear subframes from over-zelous, under-experienced drivers who loose the back end and wack a curb. I had this problem on an mr2 i used to own. didn't notice the rear wheel was at an angle until i put larger rims on it. part from that, they are quite a solid and fun little car to drive.
