A performance car get together is being considered for October. It will likely to be at the Stenson Bubble Inn near Derby on Sunday 20th October starting at 12. Everyone is welcome to come along and the pub has a good sized car park and has a carvery on a Sunday which starts at 12.30 so anyone like me that likes a bit of meat in their diet is catered for! Anybody else fancy a day out at Rockingham to watch some ASCAR racing? Don't don't how them guys get into their cars with ball5 that big. Pole setter in qualyfying, average speed round the track 213 MPH. You wouldn't believe how close they get to them walls as well. Another top speed day has been arranged for October 27th Sunday at Elvington Airfield near York. The taxiway is just short of 2miles long and the speed camera equipment will be set up at 1.6 miles rather than the 1.2 miles of last time. Fastest last time was an R33 at 198mph, so the extra 0.4 mile should break the 200mph. The track is concrete. Timed head to head 1/4s and top speed runs from 10am to 5pm. Should be 60+ cars going from different clubs, skylines, supras, GTiR, vipers, etc. Special clothing should consist of sturdy underpants and a helmet! Trackday at Rockingham Speedway on Sunday 29th September is being arranged by Easytrack (www.easytrack.co.uk) for £219 and £10 for additional passengers. It will be on the basis of 3 groups per hour, 20minutes per session. The circuit is the 2.6 mile "International Long" which includes a long stretch of the oval banking. Noise limit is 105 dBa from 3 metres at 75% max revs. The TVRCC is taking one of the three groups exclusively for TVRs. See you there. ------------------ Z first and anything else is secondary! Saturday 24th August Meet at Demon Tweeks at 11am Spend an hour or so there then head off down the A55 into North Wales to Betws-y-Coed where we can stop for refreshment (BEER!) and something to munch! Afterwards a nice drive out of Betws through Capel Curig towards Bethesda which brings us back to the A55 just before the Bangor exit. N.B. We were gonna go to Abersoch but seeing as a few peeps are travelling a bloody long way in the first place that's not such a good idea!
