Omg!!!!!
I'm with flux on what they call a cherished car policy. Much like any insurance company they pluck numbers from a hat and generally Try and take the piss but after arguing for a bit I got my import slicktop tt insured for 700, limited 5k miles but I am only 23 with 4 years ncb. Only problem with the cherished policy is that you apparently don't earn no claims (yet they affect the policy price- weird!) now they didn't tell me this last year when I had the m3 so I told em and they awarded me the year they robbed me so i'm kinda stuck with em unless I can find a place that will insure it at a sesible price next year which does give me my ncb. Anyway ring round and do what u can but flux should do it on a cherished policy!

how rare is this?
Not very really, the skyline is an everyday car in japan Like we have 3 series but the m3 is the special one, it's the same for liners over there. what is rare is a 4 door gtr! Only in r33 guise iirc and rare as rocking horse poo.

Is it worth 17k?
I've had a quick look at it, it isnt the garages car its being sold by him for a friend. While I was there the owner of the garage was moaning that it'd never sell for 17k lol Its the place where my first zed came from :)

Got something to show you guys...........
Haha mine doesnt like the zed either, mainly because she doesnt like silver and the M3 was quieter... Ah well, she'll get used to it, its either that or the astra van or we take her golf! lol

Got something to show you guys...........
Have to come and meet its stable mate at some point dude! Glad you went for this one as its a lovely lovely car. If i was still looking I'd have been over there like a rat up a drain pipe! What size wheels are on it at the moment? 17's?

whens the next meet?
I did try and organise something for a couple of weeks ago ;) But people were busy. On about organising a bit of a lakes trip/run around soon so that should be good. Mascrat is on regularly, as there is also a regular monthley (I think) meet at Guys Thatched cottage on the A6 near garstang. I can find more details if people are interested. Its often on a week night though, so it makes it tough for me to get to as I tend to work away all week... booo!

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Cheers for the new diagram daz! WOW300, am I being totally thick... when you sat 12.9 vs 8.8 bolts what does that mean? Could you tell me what bolts you used? Also who fancies getting some of these made? Or shall i just take the drawing to an engineering firm? LOL

I`ve been in Zed heaven for a week.
With regards to the route it will take careful planning to bear in mind that we get to see the most places, and to take into account some people might be coming a fair way. I hav the luxuary of living near J34 of the M6, so fairly far north and close to all these places. With regards to tonys route, a door to door run to those places is 132 miles even from mine. Also is there any reason to visit kendal? Busy busy place at the best of times a nightmare to get in an out of lol.

Whining
Sounds like gearbox syncro. Drive along and 20-30mph push the clutch pedal down and change from 3rd to 2nd, don't let the clutch up. Does the noise 'speed up' ? Mine does this when cold for a couple of miles.

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
As far as I can tell, from a few sources confirming this. The evo 5,6,7,8,9's all use the same big red brembo with the different sized pistons. This I believe they share with the Subaru Impreza STI and some unconfirmed (I think not) Alfa 166 v6 brembos. From my research I concluded that the alfa's were different because they took a much slimmer disc so ruled those out. Apparently the Impreza gold brembos are the same apart from the bleed nipple is on the wrong end for us and needs to be moved (It can be its just more effort, the reason for this is that the impreza calipers are OEM mounted at the back of the disc, rather than on ours (and the mitsi evo's) at the front of the disc.

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Cheers mate if you could! I think there must be a few different versions kicking around. I want whatever is strongest/best. Perhaps be worth getting this into an FAQ/find a plac that will make and supply these brackets for people. Saves the legwork I suppose!. I did find this diagram: Is this the later one?

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
Cheers guys! Thank you for the responses, I did find that diagram Legrath but it does say on the post with it that one of the dimensions is wrong. I need this to be a bolt on job so it all has to fit on the day I go for it... Daz you legend, PM me your number, you dont fancy doing a second set some day do you? ;)

UK adjustable dampers?
I wonder if its connected to the HICAS in some way, so actuates under hard cornering? Strange that no mention is made in the owners manuals!

Brakes Again... Evo + Brembo
I've just become the proud owner of some R33 GTR rears to go on my 300zx. I am under the impression that they are simply a bolt on item. (With the possibility of needing a new brake line!) Is this correct? They come with discs and pads but I have read that they use the same disc and pad as the standard rear calipers... Now since i've read that, have I bought a pointless upgrade? Is it indeed the same setup that ive just paid money for? LOL Also want to do the Evo Brembo upgrade, spoke to a couple of people about this and basically I'm looking to have some brackets made to suit a 350z disc. There are a couple of drawings floating about does anyone have a definate drawling. Or even fancy getting some made up :D Im sure there will be a few people who would like some too... Group buy anyone?!

Low biting clutch on a accord type r
A friend of mine has something similar on his 99 civic 1.8vti, low clutch and when driving hard it wont come out of gear. Its been diagnosed as a bad slave cylinder. Although you say yours doesnt leak. Has the clutch been replaced at all?

I`ve been in Zed heaven for a week.
I did wonder if my name would come in this... I'll put you all to shame with my SWB slippery goodness ;) To be honest, if we do this Ive a couple of mates with 106 rallyes which will just lunch us up there... LOL Its not too far from where i live (J34 M6) so we could look at doing something like this soon if people were up for it?

UK cleanest UK zed update
Ahh yeah, i do have an excuse, these are Rota GTR "Drift" wheels apparently, factory colours! Although one or two are a bit marked now with age so a wheel paint is on the cards, not sure what colour. When stenorth had this car it had some 17" volks in a bronze colour, looked awesome on those so might go back to a similar colour!

UK cleanest UK zed update
 You Dont like mine then???! Cuts me deep inside! lol Actually fancying a colour change to bronze maybe...! Red zed still looking good although those wheels are a bit blingy to me. IMHO i'd have left that well alone as a standard machine! But its of course the owners choice, nice brakes though

Brake discs
Like wise! Watched a set from a 996 go on eBay for 280 or so the other day. I'm planning on going the evo brembo route my self at the moment. Anyone with hints and tips fire em over to me as well please :-D I was planning on using the 'drawing' and going with 350z disks. As an aside to this do rear gtr brembos fit straight on or do they require muchos messing with?
