  1. Lol! It was a good threeway date ;) Well nothing wrong with the early micra would be a beast with a proper engine in it! But yes perhaps not the best choice!!
  2. Ah right, i think its because mine is series 4 with massive cost savings, but yeh I know what your saying that it was cheaper not to sell more but simply it was a smaller car etc. Back to basics sports car sounds about right for mine, our new ride on mower has more tech on it that my car lol
  3. Cracking book! I have this and its well worth the read!
  4. They were cheaper! LOL Mine and yours were the cheapest way to get a TT in Japan! Hence why they are so basic and have no kit on them. Mine only has manual heater controls, and no cruise!
  5. It was a cheaper model in the Japanese line up, also the rear seats on the 2+2 cars are fairly token and only good for children at best. The main advantages of the SWB are that you can have a tintop, which is much stiffer and lighter than the LWB cars with their targa, although the SWB targa does offer a weight saving over the LWB as well, just not as much as the tintop/slicktop. You also get a more nimble car due to the shorter wheel base, the car feels much edgier to drive and seems to handle the twisties although this could be because of the lower weight. Having owned Both LWB and SWB i will say i much prefer the SWB to drive. Although im going to get flamed for this I actually prefer the looks of the LWB, although popular opinion tends to say the SWB looks better
  6. I agree, the problem with the manual conversion and the starter motor is because of the na gearbox housing and the tt flywheel meaning that the starter motor ends up too close to the flywheen and so needs spacers. Had this headache when converting mine as phil told me I needed a new starter but I couldn't find any reference to this anywhere. It transpired that all of the conversions he had done on tt's had na boxes out in them!
  7. That's the ticket legrath! Interesting how different they are, I hadn't realised the implication of the short wheel base was of course a loss in material between the rear of the door and the wheel arch. Spoilers look the same though. Sport version certainly not as graceful as the estate I have to say!
  8. How about the early box shape micra? Now that would be a comical thing! Although i expect it would be more of build a chassis and put a micra body on it but there we go!
  9. As i said before i'll flash if I need you to get out of the way Jimmy ;) Haha well done very impressive mate! That is one very powerful car, makes me again want to chase the big power build!
  10. The car in my sig is SWB, have a look through this thread, lots of pictures of a SWB car up close. http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=137119 The best way to tell is the petrol filler cap is infront of the rear wheel arch where as on a long wheebase its behind.
  11. The tailgates on LWB and SWB models are NOT the same, as the SWB is some 8 inches shorter! However the spoiler probably is the same as I think the length is lost near the roof end of the tailgate but i could be wrong
  12. I had dump valves on my last one lol, it came fitted with them. They work just the same as on a manual... Bit only dump when you release the throttle mid gear.
  13. I would have said the same, also number two looks nice but it's been for sale for a while, and I'm sure it was for sale at a traders around Xmas time, looks like it's been a problem purchase if Im honest. Hard to say but it just gives me an uneasy feeling that car! Number 3 needs a bit of tidying but by far the best car there.
  14. Just check that the motor factor ist trying to give you z31 parts, you need z32 parts! 89 was the change over year iirc so they might be looking at the wrong model!
  15. thats the ticket i was meaning before! Cheers munny
  16. Youve already got some pistons havnt you craig ;)
  17. I was more thinking of doing the simply flash test, im sure there is a how too on here somwhere which will give you the error codes (if any!) or code 55 for all clear. Its free and easy IIRC
  18. Welcome back to zed ownership mate lol
  19. Irs difficult to diagnose any chance you can check it for fault codes? When it stuttered was it jerking as power was coming on and off or just no power?
  20. My old Grey TT did this a couple of times, I never got to the bottom of it but i did suspect the o2 sensors. When did it last have the fuel filter changed? When were the plugs last changed? Was it running high boost at the time or low boost (you have a greddy ebc dont you?)
  21. Si you of all people should know to buy on condition and not milage! And on a uk model as well, I'd check it very thoroughley if it were jap it might be a different story!
  22. I suppose it's the rust on the arch and the spoiler that would put people of. He upgraded turbos on it, are they much of an upgrade or similar to stock?
  23. I think it was a 300zx, and I think it was black only saw it in my wing mirror as I was looking else where when you went past. Just near maidenhead this afternoon on the M4, you were bristol bound.
  24. Where as I stand totally alone with my quite rare 94-98 table spoiler. Met alxlaw the other nite To give him some bits and he was another one to ask me what spoiler was on the car. Lol i do prefer the 99 spoiler BUT it's just a bit done to death!
  25. Mine was removed by a previous owner, I would have liked it although my basemodel only has manual heater controls and no cruise anyway so its like the stoneage compared to my astravan which is loaded with tech! lol
