I'm sure one model has the autobox oil fluid passing through the engine oil cooler, I think its the UK spec cars. Is yours UK or Jap?

Generally because an aftermarket steering wheel uses a boss which doesnt work with the steering wheel angle sensor. Indeed when I had my grey one the HICAS didnt work on it, neither did the autocancel on the indicators. Anyway after some digging I found the slip ring under the dashboard, took the steering wheel of and refitted the slip ring and hey presto all working. The only reason I can think that it was removed was because the car had an aftermarket steering wheel fitted at somepoint and it was simply never put back on when the standard steering wheel was refitted in the first place.

Absolute gits, always something i fear is getting a card cloned and that. I check my statements thoroughly and regularly! Having said that I have just been done by a cheeky bugger in a hotel... Basicaly stayed at a premier inn near nottingham on wednesday night, ate in the restaurant at a table I had booked for 7:30, as it happens I came downa round 7:40 or so so was a few minutes late. When I walked up to the till and asked for my reservation for room 49 the girl looked a bit confused and went Oh ok, and then cleared me another table. I didnt think much of it at the time but my booking had already been crossed of the book. Anyway ate my food, paid at the till and went to my room. Fast forward to yesterday morning and there is a letter from Premier inn, within it is a copy of the room bill and food bill. Odd I thought but they somtimes post the invoices out if the computer has crashed and they dont know whos had them and who hasnt etc. Anyway only by chance was I looked at the restaurant receipt and read the contents and thought I didnt have fish and chips! Looking more closely realised that the tab was opened at 7:32 and then not closed till almost 11:00. It became clear that some cheeky sod had looked at the booking sheet, claimed to be from room 49. Nicked my table, eaten their food and just pissed of as the staff must have realised that with no one at the tables at 11:00 that someone had left without paying for their food. Of course knowing that table 4 or whatever it was was from room 49 billed my company credit card for the meal! Totally different to £630 set of flights, but the devious *******s! All that for an £11 fish and chip dinner!

It could be the fluid level or the sensor! Nice easy fix though. Normally if there is a problem the light is off and then it comes on when driving, but strange that it comes on and then goes away... LOL

Check the power steering fluid level would be the first port of call. Other than that, do you have a standard steering wheel or aftermarket?

Any chance of a corupted map? Surely it cannot have been written like that!

But why ruin a beatiful car design? If im honest most vw's look pretty boxy and rubbish anyway so its hardly making it much worse and besides its part of the "scene" and all that shite. I can apreciate you want to make your car your own but really painting half of it in the wrong colour looks like youve run out of talent on a bend and then money when repairing it as its all the wrong colour. Maybe I just dont get it, but why ruin what looks like a reasonable car - sure it might need a repsray but book it into a local bodyshop and restore it back to its former glory... Believe me in the fact that you dont want half attached wings and bits of shit stuck to it as the power (assuming it runs properly) will just rip all that tat of. The difference as well I suppose between some heap of shit 1.0 polo is that its a euro box to go to the shops in, not interesting at all ergo no one really cares and of course it has to be extreme modifications for anyone to even notice it. Where as you're wanting to deface a car that was actually good in the first place in both performance and aesthetics!

well at least its one less with any value, makes the nice ones go up eh!

yeah I thought so, I did double check the fuse box lid. All I want to do is change the fuel damper so thought it would be best to let it drain the fuel out of the old one first and the pipes before I took the old fuel damper out!

how long should it take to stop? 30 seconds? a minute? or more?

If I remove the fuel pump fuse/relay thing in the small fuse box on the drivers side under the bonnet, the engine should stop am I correct? Or have I removed the wrong thing?

Mm silver on silver though so bland! LOL Meh they are a bit chavy... I saw an astra the other day with standard wheels painted black and a red lip :nuke: Also i got ambushed by a bus in the village the other day that forced me into the kurb, one of them was already kurbed from the previous owner so now its time to paint them! Yeah me 2! Still feeling the bronze I have to say! Well its a fair point! I would have loved the car to be a different colour, but I just couldnt bring my self to have it repsrayed a different colour when it was painted simple because it would look awful under the bonnet etc.

Hmm, not sure how that would look against the silver, I had grey wheels on my old one and was never sure. Maybe for some track day wheels lol Lol, might forget which is my car then - not sure the combi idea would be so hot! Lots of people like the silver - just think it might be a bit same same but maybe thats not such a bad thing!

You mean the ride height at the front is too low? I have coilovers to fit which is going to even the ride height out as its currently got mix matched springs front and rear :wacko: But yeah I know they stick out a bit - hmm might be the market for some wheels at some point but anyway! Colours people colours!

Powder coating = expensive, painting = free LOl calling in favors ;) Yeah I know the volk wheels suited it, really made it a classy car. I have looked into finding a set but rocking horse poo and expensive when I can find them! I do often think 18's look a tad large on a SWB but there we go!

Yeah like wise, I do like the bronze (infact i prefer the wheels and sometimes wish it still had those, but previous owners decision and all that!) As for shadow chrome it looks good on darker cars, but again im just not sure about silver! Anyone up for some photoshoppage ;)

Last minute as ever but here goes - I think i'm going to get my wheels painted either tomorrow or sunday (got a slot to get them done!) Anyway I dont know what colour to have them done so can we have some suggestions? I was thinking Bronze, but I have had shadow chrome recommended to me a few times. Also, as I'm totally useless with photoshop could someone please help by painting the wheels on the picture good colours so I can choose! Cheers guys! (Not sure which is the best to go from, I dont seem to have a proper side on picture of the car, only my stupid 3/4 ones! LOL)
