Uno
In 1991 I was working as a service engineer during the week for a small firm and doing private jobs for cash at the weekends. One such private job was for a Mr David. His wife ran a business from home and had an old photocopier. Mr and Mrs David would call me from time to time and I would go to their house and do a repair/service in exchange for cash and beer. Upon falling in love with a young lady I no longer had the inclination to do private jobs at the weekends. Instead I gave the David job to a colleague. One day me and the colleague concerned had been out to lunch and returned to the office, where upon the secretary said she had just put the phone down on Mrs David, who was asking for my colleague by name and requested a service call. Me and my colleague then remarked upon the Davids' and their copier and the nice deal of cash and drink that was always welcome on a Saturday morning. My colleague thanked the secretary for the message and then used a nearby phone to call the Davids to arrange a visit. The phone was answered by Mr David. This was surprising as he ran a large business in the city and was not found at home during the week. My colleague explained Mrs David had called requesting a service and he was returning the call. Mr David was silent for a moment and then informed him that Mrs David had died some weeks back. My colleague said he was sorry to hear that an put the phone down in shock. No one ever called back to chase the service call and we never heard of another Mrs David again. To this day the whole thing still leaves me with shivers down my neck. check the list here for more spooky stuff http://www.forteantimes.com/happened/happened_archive.shtml
bantambunny
My mum's side of the family have always been a little clairvoyent/"sensitive". We've lived in the same house since i was born and all through my childhood I had a re-occuring dream of me appearing to fly down the staircase and swing under the 2nd set of stairs before i woke up in a cold sweat. I'd also had dreams of the 3rd floor where the main door had moved, there were two seperate rooms with green peeling paper in the front half, a door that opened into the second and pink flowery wallpaper in the second with brown stained wood windows. Totally different to the way it has been since i was born. I always caught a pair of legs dangling and swinging as though someone was hanging on the staircase and my parents always told me it was rubbish. A guy had died in the house before we moved in but they were told he'd fallen and broken his neck on the way down the stairs. They said it would have been impossible to hang himself as there was "nowhere to hang himself from". I'd also heard an old man's voice outside my bedroom at night and seen legs walking past me as i was climbing the stairs on a number of occasions. Anyway, when i hit 21 a friend of my mum's who'd always lived down the road came round for a drink and they were talking about the previous owner and this women said how sad it was he'd hung himself from the banister rails at the bottom of the top set of stairs(!) My parents looked shocked and looked at me. When i checked the banister rail upstairs there's a chunk missing out of the decorative edging where the banister rail had snapped out as he swung dropping him and breaking his neck on the bottom floor. I never had the re-occuring dream again, heard his voice or saw anything and my parents never said a thing about it again. I'm assuming the dream i had of "flying" under the top set of stairs was what he'd seen on the way down before he snapped his neck. Just to make it doubly spooky i then asked about the top floor and described down to the last detail what i'd seen in the attic and my mum says she went cold. When they moved in i had described exactly what it was like, there are no photos to show what it looked like and there would be no way i'd know. I even managed to draw the pattern on the paper and get the exact way the door opened including the colour of the door handle. Spooky stuff eh? :D
EvoluZion3
 thats darn scary Nick. my only story isnt really scary by comparison, but when my grandpa on my dad's side passed away some ten years ago, my grandma had asked the local vicar around so they could talk about the funeral service. they sat in the front room which only my grandpa used to use to listen to his classical records. the vicar sat on a chair in the corner of the room, above which hung grandpa's favourite painting - a place somewhere in Ireland that he'd visited. the painting had hung there for decades and not been moved. as soon as the vicar said "Harry-Edwin" (my grandpa's name), the painting fell off the wall and crashed to the floor!! thankfully missing the vicar but still scaring the crap out of him! edk83
Before I was born my parents lived in a bungalow that was built in the 1920s. It was built pritvaly by a bloke called Alfread, he lived in the house until he died in the 1970s. They found that things would move on thier own. Mirrors would crack, picures would fall off the wall. My dad had a radio in the bathroom that ran from batteries, as you know when left off old batteries used to charge back up a little bit. He used to put the radio on and they would last just enough time while on was on the loo. My parents went on holiday to france, came back and the radio in the bathroom was on! It then went off after a couple of min as usual when the batteries ran out. They had a dinner party a few weeks later and my uncle went to the toilet rather drunk. A couple of min later he came running out of the toilet screaming he had seen the image of a man on the wall above the toilet! My parents then decided to investigate how he died etc. Turns out he died of a heart attack while sitting on the loo! When i was born and came home everything stopped, nothing further ever happened! bantambunny
My girlfriend Carly and her ex had a house which was seriously badly haunted. She'd come face to face with a tall man with slicked back hair in a boiler suit a number of times, her ex never believed her till he saw the guy himself then never stayed in the house by himself again. Her kids also used to point and call out daddy looking at the stairs when nothing was there. Carly used to wake up in the middle of the night and see a small boy standing staring at her. She once went into the kids room at night and saw him standing at the window and told him to get back into bed thinking it was one of her two only to find them both in bed and the little kid just disapeared. I helped her move all her stuff out of her ex's a couple of months ago and said i didn't really feel anything weird about the house to which she replied the house was blessed by a priest but the little boy still appeared once in a while. Just before we left i took one final box back up to the kids room and not bothering to switch on the light i walked straight in. Just as i was getting up a saw a shadow in the corner move and a shuffling sound. I about crapped myself and got out quick. Apparently last week she'd just dropped the kids off at their dad's and was driving away. The kids always wave from the bay window, she waved as she passed the first pane then they waved from the second, when she looked back to wave at them from the third they were behind the blind waving and a third child was just stood there in front of the blind staring at her. She slammed the brakes on and nearly crashed into a parked car she was so shaken up by it. She visited a friend who's a medium and she was saying Carly had a protective spirit who follows her around. He appears very short like a child but he's actually much older than he looks. Then she made the same face the kid made and said this is how he tries to scare away bad people from you! Carly told me it scared the shit out of her as she made exactly the same face the kid made when she saw him. Final bits :D Sorry for waffling lol Her new house i've been over a couple of times now when we'll be sitting in the front room at night and we'll hear footsteps like someone's walking into her bedroom. She thinks it's the kids woken up and come to find her only to find the kids are both fast asleep! Also doors on the wardrobe kept opening by themselves overnight the first two nights there. Also caught a few things on camera between the two of us: I caught this orb, only on one of two identical shots in a local graveyard on top of the breedon hill at 11pm: Carly went investigating this desolate haunted house in Kegworth. It's been empty for 40 years and no-one knows who owns it. It wasn't raining or even misty and yet all these white blobs appeared on all the photos and her fully charged camera died within 4 mins of being there and all the photos near the house had weird lines through them: My grandad was diagnosed with face cancer just two days after this red mist was caught on camera. He died two months later: Carly was round her mates house and she felt something keep touching her shoulder and span round and took a pic with her digi phone camera. This is what came out:
Guest 300zx_girl
my ex back in zim had a really really long passage that lead from like his room to the toilets. when you walked towards the toilets it was fine... on the way back it always felt like someone was breathing down ur back.. and i always used to run ... never mentioned it to him - didnt want him to think i was a freak or something.. after we broke up n stayed mates - i mentioned it to him and apparently his cousin who was 8 at the time walked into his house and looked down the passage and said there was a man standing there (clearly wasnt) but this kid could see someone there... turns out ages and ages ago some matey pegged it in the bathroom/toilet i have never set foot in that house since :nono: scares the shit out of me. stellaZ
ive been told by numerous spiritulists and other ghostly people that its me whom is haunted, evry house ive been in (except my own strangely) has had something happen (and not just once), but haunted i a good way, some say protected by spirits when i was a kid i used to talk about a woman who used to sit with me till i fell asleep, she used to say that she was a friend of my mam and dads, my parents thought it was an imaginary friend i had till they seen the previous owners of the house and they said their daughter used to see someone in the house also ive never been scared of the dark or strange rooms or any other spooky places that most people would be scared of, not till i moved in the house before this one, i used to live there with my dad mam and ourlass and that house used to scare the shit out of me lots of things happened when i was around, twice i was nearly hit with something falling off the walls, my mother is now a spiritulist (has been for some years now) and she has been told that there are spirits (one is my grand father) working really hard to keep me safe, my mother and her friends came in my new house and cleansed it and i feel really safe and welcome in here i have more stories, but will keep them for another time, all i can say is believe me or not but all i say is true, you will have sceptics (non believers) but i am speaking from my own expieriences and beleive in my own mind that there is spirits (or ghost's) out there
bantambunny
I'm a huge believer in the paranormal. I'm visited once in a while by my dad's father in my dreams just randomly. We don't really talk about him very much so it's not come from someone mentioning him on the day. I've also seen a small boy in 1920's school uniform run past the end of my bed in the middle of the night. I just close my eyes and go to sleep. I know the ones that i see aren't harmful but it worries me in case i do come into an environment of a more melevanant spirit if they pick up i can sense them. Some people have told me i shoud develop my "gift" but to be honest i don't really want to hear or see anything more than i see anyway. I'm always hearing people trying to talk to me and i just shut it off in my head. I know it all sounds a bit far fetched but i believe 100% in it and i've seen and heard enough to make my mind up i'm not imagining it. Gotta go - on this Vodafone card thing - b0llocks! you cant "just" see a ghost you have to be tuned in to your other senses but not everyone is or has the extra senses. I didnt used to believe in all this after life stuff untill my ex farther in law who has now passed on explained it all to me, spirituel guids and all that etc and showed me things i would never have believed, as he was a Clairvoyant and spirit Medium you dont fook with that sort of stuff or things like Ouija boards! I don't want to take it any further. I concider myself a "sensitive" and i do see and hear stuff but i also see and hear stuff i REALLY don't want to see (lots of blood, guts and people being killed) and i don't want spirits to see me as someone to talk to all the time. Last thing i want is to wake up every night with some lost soul wanting to speak to their son or something. It'd freak me out. I did test myself out once with those cards with the symbols on (triangle, circle, square, wavey lines like in ghostbusters at the start) and REALLY concentrated and got 13 right in a row them bottled it and stopped. Never again! :(
