sepp Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 My boot lid won't unlock, so have to have someone outside to lift it up. Would this be because the catch needs adjusting, or because the struts are knackered!?! Are the struts supposed to push it up a little when you lift the lever? Quote
vijay Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 no, struts just assist with the weight, you still have to lift it yourself once unlocked :) Vijay Quote
ChrisC Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Just needs the catch adjusting a bit. 5 minute job :) Quote
andymeeson Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 i second chris mine was the same the catch needs lowering it pulls the bootlid down when shut so when you release the catch it pops out the catch Quote
Joely P Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 or... get some string (the bathroom light cord would be ideal), tie it to your boot latch and feed it outside of the car over the rear screen and through the rear seal of the drivers targa... the end of the cord with the handle on should be cut to length so it is a comfortable reach for you in the drivers seat... ...from now on you pull your boot release latch and use an abrubt bathroom light turning on type motion... whola! :wack: shall i stop talking now? sepp Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 Thanks for your help guys. As for the bathroom cord bit, I tried that, but all the lights just came on, the boot stayed locked!! Quote
Paul Thompson Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006      The boot lid is heavy as fook especially if you have a water filled spoiler like mine  and the weight is still fitted. You have to lift the boot lid it won't just pop up on the struts Quote
NicksbananaZ Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 i had the same problem.my struts were knackered.so i put something underneath the boot release latch when i wanted to open it!just until i got some new struts. it done the job well!!! Hope this helps Nick Quote
