geeky_hawkes
Whats the best way to prove to an insurance company the value of my car? I have printed a few links off autotrader website for zeds that are for sale, but anyone got a better idea?
Yowser
You could get a valuation done at one of the 300zx Specialist garages, and there is also a guy on Zclub which offers Valuation services that may be able to help.
geeky_hawkes
Would these be worth the cash do you think dave? Ive never been through this hasstle before but want to make sure i dont get ripped off by the insurance company! The car isnt driveable/in my possestion at the moment which i guess complicates things somewhat?
CarlZ
makes no difference what value you give the car the b@st@rds wont give you back the value of it anyway, what they offered my was an insult, many arguments later i managed to squeeze a bit more out of them but no where near enough to replace the car
geeky_hawkes
just how i guessed it would end carl. Oh well!
mgh297
I've got an agreed value with Adrian Flux. I had to ask Ztech VERY nicely to give me an independent valuation. We worth it though. If I crash my Zed I will get £5200 back for it!
ChrisC
The guy at Z club does a free valuation based on photo's you send in I think. I'm sure there's some info on their site somewhere. I was going to do this for an "agreed value" policy but when I told the insurer it was worth about £10K and could prove it they said no chance you can get one for £1500. How the fook is that an agreed value? I don't mind paying more if I'm going to get my investment back.
markzx
I got an agreed value from my insurance company by insisting on speeking to one of the uderwriters and telling him what i'd done to the car and then sent copies of invoices, pictures etc and haggled. My insurance at nearly £900 fully comp with an agreed Was 18K now just rehaggled to 15K due to fall in 300zx car prices, is about £300 more than a standard fully comp insurance. That because I live in a low crime area (unless your a violated Sheep) and I'm an old git. Still thnk its worth it for everything declared. Oh yes I also have 4 other cars insured with them and pay about £4K a year and would take that business to who ever gave me what I wanted for the Z. :D :D

Guest infidel
as far as i am aware, the law states that your insurance company must meet the open market selling value of the vehicle, given its age, miles and condition in comparason to others. if you are unhappy with what they are offering, you can insist that they replace the vehicle, like for like. When my first zed got stolen and they wrote it off they offered me about a grad, i payed 4grand for it, they said you can get them for that money as they seen em for sale in auto trader, some research and insurence expert they where looking at the wrong fooking model they looked at the z31 twats, had to send em equiverlant examples and values of my car which where selling for around 4k up still only got £2600 in the end, i told em the twats that stoll my car aint the crooks you lot are, never done business with them again
geeky_hawkes
also guessing guarenteed value policys wouldnt help if you were in my case where someone else hits your car and rights it off! I have already been looking at autotrader for decent zeds at sensible money to prove what mine should be worth, just incase, but i am expecting an insulting offer! How do you stand on forcing them to include your written off car back in part of the deal
